Beef Lung is healthy and OK for your Boxer, but as with anything else, it should be given in moderation. Meaning, don't JUST feed him that and nothing else. They are good as a treat or a snack but not as his complete meal. Here is a website that you can click on that will give you more nutritional information about beef lung and other organ meats for dogs.
It's NationalPetPharmacy.com - type Beef Lung in the search.
Good luck!

This is a really interesting question! As long as the meat has been passed as fit for human consumption, doesn't contain any parasite eggs or larvae and is cooked, the answer seems to be Yes.
I googled "canine diet + beef lung" and it came back with a whole load of websites, check these out.
I guess that you have a mate who works in a slaughterhouse (my brother's a butcher) and thats handy if you own a big dog. Personally I'd have gone with tripe, but there you go.

Catfish would NOT eat roast beef in the wild. Even if somebody did drop a roast beef sandwich into a lake in some obscure area of South America or Africa (you likely don't have a North American Catfish), it would float, not sink. By the time it began to sink, other fish, birds, and insects would have devoured them (nutritionally)... Because Catfish aren't built for eating warmblooded meat, it is almost useless for it. The amino acids are the wrong mixture (cold blooded meat like fish would be best), there is FAR too much fat and cholesterol, and feeding it such food will provide it little nutritionally and could easily shorten its lifespan. Try frozen bloodworms, frozen brineshrimp, frozen prawn, live Ghost Shrimp, frozen mussels, or small bits of other frozen fish. Soop Nazi EDIT: I <3 trolls.

I would imagine it would be ok to feed in small amounts as a "treat" in small quantities. Boxers are prone to joint problems and hip dysplasia so it could have had nothing to do with the diet.....or it could have. I just wanted to tell you I think that Boxers are the most beautiful dogs in the world....lucky you!

Everything I have ever read recommends that domesticated dogs should only be fed dog food as their bodies do not have the chemicals to cope with any thing else. Ideally, protein (in this case, meat) should only take up 10% of their diet.
It has also been recommended that you need feed your pets cheap dog food as it mostly contains filler and not enough nutrients.

If your dog was wild and came upon a dead cow - it would eat all of it it could. I bet it's ok. How do you know the lamb heart caused the joint aches and problems? Seems like someone laid a guilt trip on you. Dogs can eat anything. If it doesn't agree with them, they throw it up!

if the vet says it is ok, why not. But never too much! sometimes too much of a good thing is bad. As long as your dog is healthy
