No honey, you do not need permission about when the time is right. You get that answer from God inside of your heart. When you are willing, then the Minister or Priest of the church you attend should willingly bless you with baptism. I have even done it twice in my life. I became closer to the Holy Spirit, the Power of God within me a few years ago and decided to be baptised again...the first time I was 4 years old. Just contact the church office and let them know ~ as most churches only baptize one time per month. God bless you in your Christian walk.

The question is kind of a yes and no.
No if you think you are ready and you are doing it out of obedience to Christ (please remember baptism does not give you salvation, the faith in the Lord does), then yes, go ahead.
Yes, well, permission is not the right word here. Depending on how well the minister/priest knows you, if he knows you really well, that's one thing. If he does not know you too well and you want him to baptize you, I wouldn't be surprised if he asks you some questions to see if you are ready. So, in a sense, the minister/priest is getting the assurance that you are ready more than you are seeking his permission

No you dont need permission, the Holy Spirit confirms with our spirit that we are saved. Baptism is a step of obedience which can be taken by anyone who is saved. The Eunoch was baptised as soon as he heard and believed the news of Jesus(Acts 8:26-39).It is just a public declaration and a sign of obedience and the desire to follow Jesus with all your heart. I felt the same for a while...felt I had to attain a certain level of spiritual growth to be baptised, but my pastor pointed that passage out to me and I was baptised at the start of this month.
Congratulations onwanting to take this step!! Heaven will be rejoicing with you.
My brother is also 21 on 9th July...sorry irrelevant just thought Id add that.

What you need to do is put down the bible, and listen to God, the bible is man's tool for brainwashing people like you. It started of right with God's word's but God made a mistake, yes you read it right God made a mistake by trusting man to continue the writings instead man has put what he wants in the bible, he has changed it so man can profit, and gain from it, man not God. If you wish to be baptised then go ahead you do not need any ones permission, this is your right to do so, you should be living your life, and filling it with love, Jesus was murdered by man so you need in faith in God, and don't listen to some Minister or Priest who does not have the right to decide whats best for you.
Go in Peace

You don't need to use religion as a prop to what you do, think, or feel as a human being.
You should take responsibility as a good, decent individual and think for yourself. You should do good things because you truly believe them to be right, not because some minister says so, and not because you are afraid of what 'God' will do to you if you misbehave.
Listen to your conscience and do what it says is the correct thing- treat others in a way you would like to be treated yourself, and be the individual that you are instead of hiding in ceremonies.
You are a human being - live as a good human being and think for yourself.

You should get baptized when you are prepared to live the law that Jesus gave. When you choose to follow what he commanded us, then you are ready. When you get baptized, it is symbolic...the death of your old self, and a birth to your new spiritual self. Hope this helps. By my belief, you should be baptized by one who was given authority to baptize. Like John the Baptist. So whoever it is that has the authority in your religion is the one that should baptize you. And they will be the ones that decided if you are ready.

I do not know what you mean, you should already be living a virtuous life, for the last 21 years. Do not stop to ask anyone other than God, just start doing it, you have missed out on almost a quarter of your life. Get to it man!

What you need is a revelation of what God's love mean's to you (and to Him for that matter).
First and forememost you must understand that God does not require us to undergo any special preparation, proceedure or process in order to qualifiy for our salvation. We recieve this as a gift from Him, by His grace and mercy and in exchange for our faith alone. With the exception of Jesus, God is yet to bestow this gift on a single person by virtue of their merit or qualification.
It is an intimate, personal and loving relationship that one enters into in spirit and truth. What make this relationship a loving one is God's unconditional love toward us. We will respond in love toward Him because He first loved us.
You are ready as soon as you believe you are ready, you require no mortal persons permission, but ready for what exactly? May I suggest that you must first have developed a "heart condition" for Jesus. Know in your heart that you want Jesus (the one and only Son of God) to be the Lord of your life, know in your heart that you repent of your sins and want to follow in His ways and finally express it verbally and out loud (and in private if you wish).
When you have done this, then simply start leading the Christian life, walking the path that God has prepared for you and with the guidance and council of His Holy Spirit.
Not everyone has an immediate, impactful spiritual experience but don't be suprised if that's how it happens. Remember it's all about how you respond to God in your heart, He knows your every thought even before you do. He knows if you are holding anything back.
Run up that white flag and surrender to Jesus. Don't worry how you are going to manage to walk the walk, it will come.
May God bless you and keep you and may he cause His face to shine upon you.

I believe its a joint decision. Yours because you want too and the ministers.
if you follow the instructions in the bible - not just play lip service - than everyone will know your special qualities. Therefore, there is no reason why the priest should deny your baptism

Only you can determine if you are ready to take on a personal relationship with the Lord, and only the Lord knows your heart. Sounds like you are on the right track. God Bless you!!!

Ask yourself if you have counted the cost of being a disciple of Christ.
"...whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he has, he cannot be my disciple"
If you have, then you are ready for baptism. You don't need anyone to act as high priest between you and God except Christ (Hebrews 3:1).
