the film and the book are forbidden in many Islamic countries, cause Muslims think that Prophets or holly people have to be respected and not to talk or till faction stories about them.but any way it's an interesting book and the movie is mysterious and good too.I'm Muslim but i read the book cause i was serious that's not mean that i believed every thing in the story though there are many right things the story mentioned it and i believe it such as Jesus was a human not a god and he hadn't been crucified.and that some people changed the real bible which was saying that Jesus was a human teacher and a honorable prophet (p,b)up on him.

well a lot of religions think that...and it's b/c the da vinci code goes against the teachings of Christ. although i do know some christians even that have watched it. my friend, for example, told me that it was very good. she knows her facts and found something to be said about the history and whatnot of the movie.

b'coz one of our relegion basics is respecting all prophets, and we find that this movie has fake ideas about jesus, and that is the only reason for refusing watching this movie and I think that cristians have to defend their prophet.
I hope it's now clear why we don't agree to watch the da vinci code

I did not see the movie, yet what I understand that Christians living in Islamic world were behind that because they say it is false. As the film is about Christians, we can not interfer but ought to respect their attitude.
I am in Egypt and this film was denied to show because of the aforesaid

It would be laughable if there was a command not to read the book or watch the film.
If you don't like the previews or reviews of the book of film then don't read/watch it but don't base your tastes on dogma (especially if it is someone else's).

Maybee they are a lot wiser than we give them credit for! The film is fictional, BUT people seem to believe it. In fact they would rather take it as truth instead of believing the Bible. It's sad.
