U have what is called "thin hair". The best way to deal with it is to buy some scalp conditioner and wash ur hair every 2 to 3 days then apply the scalp conditioner on a wet scalp. Dont tie ur scalp up with any bandannas. Let ur scalp breathe, no caps, hats or anything like that. U should do this for about 2 weeks and u will see results. Make sure that the scalp conditioner has vitamins and good hair proteins. As far as the split ends all u can do is cut them and treat ur hair as I stated above.

I have exactly the same problem!! split ends are a nightmare!

Do you dye your hair, you know colour highlight or lowlight your hair a lot?? It sounds obvious but this dries out your hair! and also do you use straighteners????
Also avoid Pantene shampoos and conditioners they are very bad as they strip the hair of its goodness!

It doesn't however sound like you do do that so here is some advice!

Hairdressers and everyone says get your hair trimmed at least every six months! well I dont! I find eveytime you get your hair cut, especially if you are trying to grow it you are back to square one. I suggest even if you have bad split ends, go to the hairdressers and only get the very bottom of the hair cut, they like to cut above the split ends, but this just makes them appear higher up in the hair, this is what I found!!

To rectify the split ends you do have, use only the best hair products, dont go for cheap hair products as they dont last and you have to use more of them leaving residue!

REDKEN, TONI AND GUY are the best in my opinion, there is a particular conditioner that I use called moisture infusion, and a hair serum called moisture injection both by toni and guy. Ask for redken hair products at your hair dressers and ask if they have any products specifically for split ends.

If you cant afford all these products dont worry, simple tricks like leaving your conditoner in your hair overnight, or on these hot summer days apply conditioner onto slighty damp hair wrap in cligfilm and sit outside, and let the conditioner infuse!

other simple things avoid tying your hair up all the time, and dont brush your hair with a metal brush, it just breaks the hair into splinters...

Good luck x x

Trimming is not the only solution for the spilt ends nor do conditioner helps infact it worsens the problem rather oil your hail with coconut oil or badam oil probably on saturdays and leave it overnight and then wash the next day. Actually i meant to say is that let the oil be on your hair atleast for 6-8 hours to enable it to penetrate in your skin properly. Apply oil in circular motion also if possible apply oil to you hair and then damp a towel in warm/hot water and then wrap your hair with it. this helps to open the pores and let the oil absorb in evenly.
Try it out and let me know but dont expect to get results soon it will take some time do this atleast once a week and then see the effect.

Tke care

I use a cheaper shampoo that still gets the job done, but then I have been using Pantene Pro-V (Sleek and Smooth formula). That conditioner works really well for bringing out the sheen in your hair and keeping it vibrant. It supposedly also helps bond hairs back together after splitting, and prevent split ends from happening, period.

Also, try to keep your hair brushed out (don't overbrush it, but when my hair got really long I ended up just pulling it back every day and not brushing it every day). Combs usually rip at my hair a little too much, but soft-bristled brushes are often too thick and soft to do much to my hair (don't know about yours, but mine is ridiculously thick). So I use a paddle brush with harder, wider spaced bristles (Conair), and it gets all the tangles out without yanking anything too hard, and without separating individual hair strands.

I used to have really bad split ends, but since I started doing this with my hair, I haven't had any problems.

Good luck!

1st off, dont use heated tools as often to style your hair. if you do use a heated tool, make sure that you use a hair protectant specially made to protect your hair when you style it.
2nd, dont brush your hair with a brush when your hair is wet. the hair is not as strong when its wet and can break more easily with a brush. so use a wide toothed comb.
3rd, wind can cause split ends. wear your hair in a loose braid or bun when you are outside.
4th, sun can also cause damage. find a non oil spray-on sunscreen and apply it like hairspray.

Well, you can use conditioners, shampoos, masks - anything but to save you the trouble - NOTHING HELPS; exept cutting you rhair, of course. Just tell you hair stylist to cut the ends only and your hair will look good. As simple as that!

I know how irritating it gets! i have it too... but to lessen it up a bit, use serum at the ends of the hair....but it wont help much i think..
if you are considering rebonding, it's good coz i am about to do the same, it's just that once you've rebonded your hair, i dont know what it called but something about the hair will be broken...
opt for rebonding if you have hari with good volume... and do trim once a month...not too much...

Let the split end grow naturaly, it will break off naturaly when the hair reaches it's full length or if your apposed to long hair buzz it off like army men do.
