discriminated against, evaluated, tested, or rated based on race, religion, gender, creed, etc. Yet, at least twice a year, my APFT is evaluated based on my age and gender. Does anyone else think it's time for one standard and one standard only?

I am aware that men and women have different bodies. However, they preach this Army of One crap and argue that there are neither front lines nor differences between support and combat arms. Well, if we are all doing the same job, shouldn't we all be required to be equally fit for it?
And no matter how long I stay in the Army, wrong will always be wrong.

Dude, it's never going to happen. As you spend some more time in the army, you'll realize that women will always be treated better than men. That is what EO really means.

well i am a female and i used to be in the Army and you present a valid point. but there are reasons that the Army has different standards. at different ages in your life your body will be built differently. and males and females bodies are built differently. it wouldnt be right to hold everyone to the same standard because say the max run time for everyone was 16 minutes, the young guys would run it like its a piece of cake where it would be really challenging for the older males and the females. so basically a male running the 2 mile at 14 minutes has the same level of physical fitness as a female running it at 16 minutes. i know you probably wont see it that way but its true, and that is why the army has different standards. it is not discriminating.

Listen guy - the APFT does nothing but measure your general level of physical fitness. A 45 year old soldier will have to be at the same level of fitness to get his 100 points for the pushups as a 22 year old will be to get his.

Stop whining and get a life.

the APFT goes by these guidelines because the male and female bodies are not the same, therefor to get an accurate idea of physical fitness these guidelines were established.

Face it and live with it. You will be discriminated against from time to time and there is nothing we ( You ) can do about it.
