The vet said to give her pepto bismal, she also gets the hiccups alot. She is very playful and has a good appetite. She only eats dog food, no human food.

Thanks for the information. All her shots are up to date and she has only thrown up in the last 24 hours. We are going back to the vet anyway.

I changed her diet to Lamb and Rice by Pedigree. I am still giving her pepto 2 times a day and she had done great! Thanks everybody.

If the vet couldn't explain it, and the pepto doesn't work...it's time to confront the vet or find a new one. Some dogs get pancreatitis which can be deadly. Other's just get an acidic stomach for awhile and it eventually goes away.

Is she coughing a lot and wheezing? My neice's dog just gave my dogs Kennel Cough about a month ago and they were coughing, wheezing, and throwing up white foam...a LOT! My vet said there wasn't anything to do but let it run it's course (it took about a week and a half for my oldest) ... if your puppy has been in contact with other dogs recently, I'd be sure to tell your vet that.
Otherwise, it could be a lot of problems...unfortunately dogs like Yorkies are so interbred there are a lot of health problems that the puppies start exhibiting. It can be a long hard road to get to the bottom of the problem. Good luck!

You should be getting xrays of her abdomen. If that does not reveal anything abnormal, such as a foreign object, or suspicious gas pattern, then you may want to ask your vet for suggestions on a bland diet. It may be that your dog has a sensitivity to the food that you are feeding it, or it could have about 10 other problems. You should request some actual testing, because in a young, small dog, chronic vomiting is not good.

Whenever any of our dogs has had tummy trouble, I fix a pot of steamed rice. I put one bouillon cube in each 2-3 cups of water. The sodium, etc, helps maintain their blood electrolyte balance and improves the flavor. I give them this in small amounts for a day, or until the tummy trouble wains and regular food is tolerated. Hope this helps someone.

Have her checked for worms, take a stool sample into the vet, tape worms will sometimes make them gag if they are really infested, if she has no worms she may have allergies. Hicups are normal in puppies.
