If you believe in heaven and hell, then you'd believe that you have to do good things to get into heaven, and bad things to get into hell. If you indescriminately nuke people then you'll probably go to the hotter one of the two.

I am not quite sure what you mean by this question. The presence of heaven does not guaranty entry there. In my Christian belief system, it is rather based on our ability to do two things:
1- Love God with our whole minds, hearts, and strength
2- Love our neighbor as our self.
Now I know that this is a direct quote from scipture, however every religion in the world (even Wicca, and pagan belief systems) have something similar, even if said in different terms.

From this I would say, it is a universal belief that somehow we experience some sort of universal, long-lasting karma based on how we show love to others.

In this context, I am referring to the greek term agape for love, which means (quoted from Wikipedia)
Agapē (written αγάπη in the Greek alphabet, and pronounced /aga̍pe/ or /a̍gape/), is one of several Greek words meaning love. The word has been used in different ways by a variety of contemporary and ancient sources, including Biblical authors. Many have thought that this word represents divine, unconditional, self-sacrificing, active, volitional, thoughtful love

In Summary, even though you know there is a heaven, it does matter who you nuke.

Shouldn't that be "if I know there is NO heaven ..."?

The presumption of atonement (which I don't believe in any religious context) would give you a pretty good reason not to.

If you know there is no heaven then the only retribution likely to be exacted upon you is right here on earth by the folks outraged by your actions.

i believe there is a heaven and if you are a christian you would know that there is a heaven and a God.God also has his rules which you must follow before you can get to heaven one of them no fornication or adultery.but God is willing to forgive people for their sins all you have to do is tell him you are sorry and become a born again christian and try not to do it again.dont worry he forgives christians too.

Probably because the God in your Heaven wouldn't consider mass murder a very nice thing and you wouldn't get to see the Heaven you believe exists.

It doesn't matter anyway you look at, there is no heaven (unless you're delusional) but we need a cataclysmic event to bring us back down to sustainable levels, say about 3 billion...
