First, I blame corporate America.
Many many companies, which we consider Amercian are responsible for this. Walmart, MacDonalds and 10000 other companies. Its not about labor shortage as much as it is about paying the correct wages. They are trying to save costs every way possible. Corporate america is exporting service related jobs and other jobs requiring skills.
Importing illegals to do the blue collar jobs. What should an average American do??
Its even worse when they say we are falling behind in math, engineering and science and say that students are shying away from these fields. What else do you expect them to do??
A mexican is comming to the US because he is sure he will get a job, get a house and be entitled to all the benefits that a legal resident or citizen has. Western union is more than willing to wire money (earned illegally) to a bank account in mexico. Again I dont blame the mexican, but Western Union. He should not be able open an account in bankl let alone remitt money.
Congress caters to the need of corporate america and has turned a blind eye and they are equally responsible for this mess.

Both Congress and the illegal aliens are at fault. Illegal immigration to the U.S. from Mexico has been a problem since at least their revolution in 1910 when thousands flocked here. It was going on even decades before this. The illegal immigration problem has grown and grown until it is now an avalanche. Congress has done little to nothing in the past to address this problem. It now time for a real solution. Deport these people and don't let them back in.

US immigration policy is way too lenient, and the laws that do exist are not enforced. People in this country , especially those who are not paid adequately, are highly susceptible to corruption and the enforcement agencies themselves are guilty of looking the other way and taking bribes to allow illegal passage. People who enter legally but stay on after their visas expire and thus fall under illegal status are not kept track of . There is a wide network people whho assist in aquiring driver's lisences, credit crds etc. There is no reason to leave if one can make themselves a mainstream life here undetected.
Inadequate or low salaries is no excuse for lack of character, though. There will always be people who use their positions to abuse they have power for their own gain.
The laws in this country are not worth the paper they're written on unless they are enforced.
Finally, there are many incentives for legal and illegal immigtration here. One is the ridiculous amount of protections given. I know this because I have friends who are in law enforcement who are just as frustrated by the situation.
I have family members who literally are out of work because someone else is willing to do their jobs at a cheaper price. This is not a turn of the century stereotypical claim, this is reality. The cheap labor force is why Congress, (remember many of it's members are supported by major corporations, with shareholdings in companies whose bottom line is kept afloat by cheap labor), refuses to enforce existing immigration laws. They would have to pay real wages to citizens.
We can write and vote, but I find once in office, some of our "representatives" can be very self serving and short sighted.

The government.I just read last night an interesting email. It said instead of protesting in America and waving banners that the Mexicans should go back to Mexico and straighten out that country.A couple of hundred years ago some colonists got pissed and had a tea party up here in Boston.Maybe they should go try something along those lines instead of sucking of the American tit.Or even enter the country legally,I understand that's still possible.
P.S. I'd ship every illegal back

Enforcement of existing laws or lack of is the problem. The government is at fault but not congress as they have passed good legislation. I do not blame the illegal aliens as they are just seeking a better life. But they are breaking the law to do it so I guess it they do share some of the responsibility.

Reagan started this catastrophe in 1986 when he allowed hordes of illegals into this country and it has escalated to the point that it is now. Since then, illegal trespassers have continually broken our laws because our joke of a government has enforced all the laws but immigration laws. Now, we have three major traitors of the American people in office. They are Bush, McCain, and Kennedy. When you have people in power and other people who are willing to be the criminal, you have anarchy. It is the fault of both.

Your right, this mess didn't start yesterday, it started in 1492; LOL. But as long as people are willing to sneak into the USA we know were not goose stepping, yet. Who's falt is it? No one to blame, we live in a country where in poverty you can own a Microwave oven, TV set and a Computer. If you want to blame something, blame our great economy.

The American public are 100% to blame. They elected the ineffective leadership. They made this country the attractive place it is to our poor neigbors. And they continue to hire people who do the best job at the best price. We need to start paying higher prices for shoddier products, then this whole immigration thing will fix itself!
