Hello. I was browsing on internet for maybe 4 hours and still can not find any good solution to avoid car stereo robbery. Many brands (almost all) have detachable faces (removable faceplate), but that's a very stupid solution, because even on that way, burglars will steal the main unit... There are some way to adapt or convert a car stereo into a unit that can be removed completely? or there are any brand with a solution like this instead of a dumb detachable face?

I've got one for you, go get el cheapo car amplifier with provision for line-in, and get yourself a pocket MP3 player. Install your amplifier into the car body somewhere, have a mechanic weld a strap over it for you, so you can't unscrew or unbolt the thing, and then run a headphone cable under the carpet up by the shifter or something. Put a cheesy AM radio in the dashboard, so there's nothing easily portable to be tempting to a car thief,
and when you get out of the car, take your MP3 player with you. No bait=no theft. That also makes a good case for driving an older car that's not thief-bait. Lay not up your treasures where moth and dust and car thieves doth corrupt...

if you can't see it, you don't have any idea it's there, it won't be stolen....... detatchable faceplates don't get stolen when there's no face, because the rest of the unit is useless without the face. just don't stash it under your seat, remove it from the car. tint is good, make sure the amps are concealed completely, wires too, and truth be told - don't drive a cadillac in cracktown with the stereo pounding.... it's like a shark smelling blood

The steering wheel locks work good unless the car thief knows how to clip the steering wheel and pull it off. Maybe you can sleep in your car, or move to Wyoming, where that kind of thing happens less often.

They used to make removeable car stereos, but nobody bought them because they were a pain in the a*se to lug around. I like the pit bull idea, but alternatively try not parking in dodgy locations.

remote locate radio head to trunk blank off hole in dash use a remote to control radio and on the blank off plate install a jack to
plug in a i pod. the wiring for this will cost alot but a " good" audio shop can do this and not trash either your cars electrical system or your interior, [ yes the seats will have to come out, carpet too.] good luck, and remember if you cant see anything then there is nothing there and the thieves will move on to easier pickings.

A better alarm. What are you driving, a Honda? Those things are sooo easy to break into. ( 4 radios of mine were stolen, until I changed cars). Once I locked my keys in my last Honda, made a non emergency call, and saw how easily a cop broke into my car.

Get a better car.
