Deut 25:11-12 "If men get into a fight with one another, and the wife of one intervenes to rescue her husband from the grip of his opponent by reaching out and seizing his genitals, 12you shall cut off her hand; show no pity."

if this law only applies to ancient hebrews, do you feel the same way about the ten commandments which is also described in the same context in Dueteronomy also?

angelvic_83: Yeah there is always some convenient get out of jail card for those who like to believe but find the blood thirsty instructions in the Bible unpalatable.

Why don't you show the actual passages that corroborate what you say, and show in detail why you think you can ignore the portions of the Bible you don't like?

Jesus came and fulfilled the law so that no more punishments had to result as consequences of breaking the law. So yes it did only apply to the people of Moses day. The 10 commandments and all other laws including the one above were written as a guide to a society that was just and orderly rather than chaotic. The world is bound by these laws and will suffer the consequences without returning to God through Jesus. Sin seperates us from God and leads to death but in knowing Jesus we have life and do not have to suffer these penalties for sin as He already has taken the burden of all.

I agree, that was an odd one. But it was one of the ritual ones that applied to ancient Hebrews, not to Christians today.
