Using charcoal will clean your breath (and cut down on the smell of alcohol in your breath) but it will not whiten your teeth. To whiten your teeth begin by cutting out staining foods such as coffee, tea and dark sodas. Eating strawberries will help to brighten and whiten your smile. Brush after every meal and make sure to floss. Your teeth are actually translucent, so make sure to brush the backs of your teeth as well as the front.

Use Crest White Strips -- recommended by dentists. OR use a paste of baking soda rubbed on your teeth.

aside from the obvious...crest whitestips. and don't be fooled by price...the regular 14 day kind works better than the premium 7 day kind. i used them before a pageant. and when you brush and floss, use a whitening toothpaste that is colorless (white) and try to stay away from mouthwashes with orange, yellow, or green dyes. don't chew gum with dye in it. just don't chew gum. don't eat or drink anything that will stain your teeth (coffee, chocolate, tomato based products, wine) within an hour of the whitestrips.

in addition to brushing flossing and mouthwash, I heard that the crest Whitestrips work pretty well, or you can try a whitening toothpaste or any at home whitening kit.

the best way is to get it whitened professionally which is more predictable and you can literally see your shade changing.

you can also ask your dentist to give you a home whitening kit so that custom built trays which can hold the whitening gel to your teeth can be constructed which wll again give more predictable and longer lasting results
