Zuba, there is only a controversy because you ignore large portions of the Gospel where Jesus is crucified, dies, and is resurrected. Even those who do not believe in Scripture can read this and find it to be true.
On to your question. I don't believe that the war is over Christ, but rather over political and economic concerns. The makers of this war viewed one another as a threat - Al Qaeda saw America as a threat to Islam, and America saw Al Qaeda and Saddam as threats to its interests.
I've often wondered how the Holy Land can be Holy with so much blood spilt. Perhaps this is one sign of the greatness of the Lord, that there will be healing and peace where once so much blood was spilled.

Okay...Jesus Christ is most definitely not the same as the Muslims Allah. The Muslims refuse to believe that Jesus was the son of God sent to perish for your sins. The controversy in the Middle East has to do with the Koran's instructions to attack the Christian nation (United States) on 9/11. It actually says 9/11. The Muslims live to kill Christians and die to kill Christians. That's how their holy book tells them they will go to the 'good place' when they die...but their really all going to Hell, unless they turn from their wicked ways.

The great city is divided into three parts for each of the three religions (Revelation 16:19).
Thankfully there will be a New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:2) after Christ takes back this planet by force (Revelation 19:11-16).

You might have heard of the parable of the elephant and the blind men. The problem involving interpretation of the truth is pretty much that. Here is the original version of that parable:
A number of disciples went to the Buddha and said, "Sir, there are living here in Savatthi many wandering hermits and scholars who indulge in constant dispute, some saying that the world is infinite and eternal and others that it is finite and not eternal, some saying that the soul dies with the body and others that it lives on forever, and so forth. What, Sir, would you say concerning them?"
The Buddha answered, "Once upon a time there was a certain raja who called to his servant and said, 'Come, good fellow, go and gather together in one place all the men of Savatthi who were born blind... and show them an elephant.' 'Very good, sire,' replied the servant, and he did as he was told. He said to the blind men assembled there, 'Here is an elephant,' and to one man he presented the head of the elephant, to another its ears, to another a tusk, to another the trunk, the foot, back, tail, and tuft of the tail, saying to each one that that was the elephant.
"When the blind men had felt the elephant, the raja went to each of them and said to each, 'Well, blind man, have you seen the elephant? Tell me, what sort of thing is an elephant?'
"Thereupon the men who were presented with the head answered, 'Sire, an elephant is like a pot.' And the men who had observed the ear replied, 'An elephant is like a winnowing basket.' Those who had been presented with a tusk said it was a ploughshare. Those who knew only the trunk said it was a plough; others said the body was a grainery; the foot, a pillar; the back, a mortar; the tail, a pestle, the tuft of the tail, a brush.
"Then they began to quarrel, shouting, 'Yes it is!' 'No, it is not!' 'An elephant is not that!' 'Yes, it's like that!' and so on, till they came to blows over the matter.
"Brethren, the raja was delighted with the scene.
"Just so are these preachers and scholars holding various views blind and unseeing.... In their ignorance they are by nature quarrelsome, wrangling, and disputatious, each maintaining reality is thus and thus."
Then the Exalted One rendered this meaning by uttering this verse of uplift
O how they cling and wrangle, some who claim
For preacher and monk the honored name!
For, quarreling, each to his view they cling.
Such folk see only one side of a thing.

Are you crazy? The war on terror was triggered by th 9/11 attacks. Afghanistan was invaded with the excuse that it was Al-Qaeda's stronghold. Iraq was invaded because Washington thought Saddam had WMDs. Isreal and Palestine are fighting for land. Arab nations and Isreal have a long rivalry.

I do not believe so. God, or Jesus have nothing to do with either of them. It is man's own contempt for his brother. Man's own misunderstandings and misinterpretations of the Law of Love. Killing in the name of God is a shameful thing, when God is perfect love and divine justice.
What about the death penalty imposed in God's name?
"This is to usurp the place of God in the dispensation of justice. People who act in such a way reveal how far from understanding God and how much they still have to undergo to cleanse their consciences. Capital punishment is a crime, no matter in whose name it is employed; and those who apply it will endure the appropriate consequences."

I have a really tough time with people who kill each other for the sake of their God, Allah or whatever other lame excuse they give. I think it is all about intolerance of each others' differences and has nothing to do with their Higher Powers or belief systems.
