You just shake her off and say no. Spaying her will not matter. It is a dominance issue. Getting her spayed gives her higher chance to gain weight, and health problems, by the way.

Most likely she is trying to show dominance over you. A girl dog in heat usually does not hump people, they will sometimes try to hump the male.

If she is in heat would see her vulva swollen (just under her anus), and when I say swollen, I mean it gets very large. And she will have blood and licking at her vulva a lot.

You can also take a tissue and wipe her vulva to see if there is any blood. When she first goes into heat or going out it may be very light pink.

A lot of people do not spay or neuter their dogs and are able to keep them from mating with other dogs. There is a lot of evidence that shows the benefits to NOT spaying and if your sister chooses not to spay her I am sure she has her reasons.

Even spayed a female can continue to "hump" other dogs, people and objects. Give her a stuffed toy (like a teddy bear size) or a pillow and when she tries to hump you, give her that. You can also squirt her with a squirt bottle with water in it and tell her NO when she does it, then give her the toy or pillow. She should turn her "affection" to the other object;-)

Is she showing any bloody discharge from her back end? That would indicate that she is in heat. Otherwise, she may just be trying to claim you as her subservient... *heh* It can simply be a dominance behavior.

A more jaded dog-person might give her an inanimate object to take out her affections on, such as a pillow or a stuffed animal. (Only people think it's gross. To the rest of Creation, it's normal.) She may actually keep doing it after she's been spayed, as well. Some proper training may be in order to keep her from continuing.

Good luck to you, and I know it's disturbing... Just remove your leg and try to get her attention focused elsewhere. Throw a ball or something... Sometimes it works.
