No, an addiction of any kind takes over your life and destroys relationships as you start to ignore your responsibilities.

Sex as an addiction is often though of light-heartedly as people think that it is an addiction to something highly pleasurable. However, an addict will do anything to get a fix, and a sex addict could do some very degrading things that would hurt themselves and possibly others.

Can your partner be addicted exclusively to you? If not then they will stray and this could ruin the marriage. Some wives have accepted that their husbands will stray, as long as it is just for sex, they do not love the mistress, and always come back to their spouse the marriage can work. That takes a pretty open minded partner. If you think you can do this then make sure your partner shares their exploits. You want to know what they have been up to and it will help to keep them honest.

However, I don't think I could let my spouse stray in this fashion. I would not want to enter such a marriage.

Only if their partner can deal with the fact that the sex addict will be having multiple sexual encounters in high risk situations. Kind of makes a mockery of the whole marriage deal, don't you think?
