Everyone has a small allergic reaction when bitten by a mosquito bite. That is what causes it to be a small red bump and itchy. It sounds to me like you have a slightly larger local allergic reaction than the rest of the people; although it is hard to tell because you haven't told us exactly large the swelling is. If it is horrible, try going to your doctor when you have one and see if you can get some topical steroid cream like betamethasone.

i have the same condition. it keeps on itching until it goes away. our skin is allergic to the anti-coagulant that the mosquito rubs on our skin before it takes blood from us. once you get the bump from the mosquito, wash it with antibacterial soap and put some antibacterial ointment. this will prevent you from having ugly scars(if the bump became a wound) after the bump goes away. icepacks help a lot, they prevent you from scratching the area and it gives you relief. get yourself some insect repellent too.

This happens to me but everywhere I get bit. I take an antihistamine tablet and put calamine lotion on it. Good luck, it can be uncomfortable- so I do use ice at the beginning as well to help with the swelling and stinging.

You could be developing an allergic reaction to mosquitoes. I would definitely take precautions like spraying Off on your legs to keep the critters away.

Sounds like you have a sensitivity to mosquitoes. Wear a repellent before you go out. Its a good practice to protect from mosquito bites in general as they carry diseases. West Nile Virus is a big one here.
