Etsi sen! I traveled in Ghana as well, and I speak a tiny bit of Twi, mostly Fante, which is very close. I've had the same problem as you in finding any sort of info to help me out. I've found a couple of good internet links that might help you out:
http://research.yale.edu/akan/
and
http://africathink.ghanathink.org/?q=guide

I've used them both. If you've got any questions, let me know, I'd love to help!

hi,get a dictionary from this site.
http://www.worldlanguage.com/Products/Twi/Dictionary/Page1.htm
You can also ask me for translations of specific words.
if you are on hi5,join a group called wo te twi, for speakers of the language.

private tutors are also available.you can advertise on ghanaweb.com but you need to state your location.
All the best.
