Because FEAR can be very strong. Sometimes we unconsciously think that it would be better to keep on dreaming about it (and keep the possibility alive) than to find out it won't happen. But its always worth the chance....better to live life to the fullest and find out..life can be very short.

One of my favourite quotes comes to mind here...
"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important"

So you need to decide if it is important. Good luck

rejection
some times other person wants you just as much and is waiting on you. After High school there was a guy I though was so hot and turns out for four years he though the same of me but never asked me out. We found out when I came home on break form college.

If your dying to be with the person, well theres your answer..< because you want to be with the person so bad, you are more prone to pain if you get turned away. but im tellin ya go for it. ask em' out. they will most likely say yes if you have something strong enough to like them so much, they probably do too
good luck!

The fear of rejection is probably the biggest reason people hesitate to ask someone out.
I guess you have to decide which bothers you more..maybe being rejected,or always wondering what could of been.
Good Luck :)

Fear of rejection sums it all up. If you are not comfortable with who you are as a person and do not have the confidence to want to share who you are, it will always hold you back.

Fear of rejection.
Take my husband for example. He was admiring me from afar. I finally raised the hood on my car, hoping he would come see if he could help. OOHHH no, he was still afraid that I'd tell him to get lost.. Married 12 years...

Scared to be rejected. Some people feel they only have one chance and if they blow it then that's it. So they feel they need to wait for the perfect time to ask and the clock keeps ticking. Just ask.

because if you're dying to be with them, you automatically feel insecure and unsure. it makes you doubt yourself if you don't get a immediate response of your preference. therefore you are afraid of rejection.
