Myself, I am a grad and need to consolidate my loans before the deadline! So I went on a google hunt (I mean search ;). Eventually, I did find a site that has rated a few student loan consolidators, and says they have checked them out. Here's the web page: http://lendersrated.com/studentloans.htm

Hope it helps you...

No, it's not that great.

Any lender that bypasses the school is usually less-than-reputable -- this tends to indicate that they don't care too much about whether their applicants are meeting the eligibility criteria usually required for a student to obtain an educational loan. Moreover, they haven't been in existence for very long -- so how do you know that they'll continue to offer you good (or any!) customer service during the many years you'll owe them money.

For a list of good lenders who have been around for a while, try this site: http://www.finaid.com/loans/privatestudentloans.phtml. Any of them would be better then Astrive. Only use them if you have no other choice.
