I think you need to make sure you know the person really well and if this is the first time meeting i think you may need to take someone with you and make sure you too are never alone. I dont think it is a good idea but hey as long as you have some one with you and you know the person well all i can say is be very careful and take it up with your parents. I too am 16 and have done the internet thing but my space isnt all that great to meet mr right on and you dont know his background and i dont think you need to or want to do it becuase you are asking everyone what they think wich means you are worried, nervous, or having doubts about the whole thing. I would personally have him come to you..That way he is in your territory.

I think her parents need assistance.Unfortunately the whole town does not raise the kids anymore.
People care less and less about other peoples kids...Though it may have even been obvious to some who interacted with this child along her way, i bet many were reluctant to actually intervene in a direct and positive manner out of fear .Though the parents will no doubt be roasted,it is sad that there was no one to stand up for this strange little girl at any other juncture of her ill concieved journey.

NO NO NO
Don't you watch the news? Women and girls get raped and kidnaped all over the planet. He might be someone who wants to move to the United States and is just looking for someone to marry him and get him to the states.
What parents would let their daughter take that trip.
You have so many years ahead of you.......wait for the right guy. the right place, the right time. Don't waste your time on a fantasy that might turn into a nightmare or even death.

well are you SURE this guy is who he says he is? online predaters are very very good at tricking you and getting you to think they care about you. have you made him give you a salute picture? its where you tell them to hold up a sign in clear view that says their name, their screen name and maybe be doing somethign weird (like holding a fork). Their face should be visiable in this picture.
