Unfortunately yes but they will eventually induce it or do a c-section cause like one of the previous answers said your plecenta starts to get old after 40 weeks. They will let you go over a little cause most pregnancies that seem to go on forever were miss calculated to begin with and they don't want to rush and have it actually be a few weeks behind.

Yes, all the Doctors and books will tell you that no pregnancy will go on forever. And most pregnancy's that are more than ten months were just miscalculated. But, it is proved that some women do not go into labor on their own, that is why so many women died before technology was around. I myself was three weeks overdue, and had not dilated at all, and we did a planned Cesarean. It doesn't mean there will be any complications for you rather you have to be induced or a C-section. But, you can definitely go past your due date. Good Luck!

Yes,my daughter was a 10 month pregnancy, the doctors had to induce my labor at 10 months.Dont beleive it is healthy,my daughter was born natural but broke her right shoulder and fractured her left coming out of the birth canal,i blame it on being pregnant for that extra month.

Yes, but doctors usually induce labor before that. They don't like it to go over nine months and two weeks. As Iread this question I wondered if you were pregnant and anxious to have the baby......wondering if he/she will ever come. If so, I remember those days all too well. Relax and get your rest whiile you wait if that is the case.

It happens, but as the placenta ages there is more risk to the baby so a doctor would probably want to induce it.
