I was always like that in school too, and this was before they knew what "Attention Deficit Syndrome" or Ritalyn was. The way I solved this problem for myself was to, well say the subject was History. I started trying to find parallels to what I was reading and what's going on in the world today. Most of what you read in textbooks IS boring. They have no flavor, they don't make you care about the people about whom you're studying.

Taken in that perspective, events that happened hundreds of years ago seem a lot fresher and more vital, and you wilkl find the facts remain with you a lot longer.

Focus on it.Make some illustrations on what you study like visualizing the science experiment or something like that. Most of the time you will be making illustrations which will improve your focus on studies and can help you understand the concept in a better way.As you understand the concept concentration automatically follows.
Good luck.

By ceasing to DO SO !
this may sound strange.
however, i can tell u one thing and that is: Concentration just HAPPENS EFFORTLESSly.
tips cld be:
1. relax ur body first. become aware of any TENSIONS in any part of your body & give an internal message for that part to RELAX.
2. RELAX ur MIND. simply watch and observe ur thought waves for a while and HIT that point when there is a PAUSE/ BREAK btwn TWO THOUGH STREAMS. Recongnise the SPACE in this pause even though it is for a fraction of a second.
3. gradually u'll notice that u are moving towards a BEING state in you which effortlessly stays FOCUSSSED.

Stand with your nose against a wall for five minutes a day, your willpower is the same as your concentration power, it really works, I know from experience.

Give study and pleasure their own definite times. So, when it's time to have fun, you have fun. And when it's time to study, you study, knowing that soon it'll be time for fun again.
