Ultimately sister, we can not fathom the ways of the Lord, as we lack in deeper knowledge of the larger scheme of things. One thing to remember is we are on this Earth to give us an opportunity to connect to the Holy One. He has seen in our souls the ability to communicate with Him, that is why we were made human to begin with.
Remember that suffering has a purpose in the larger scheme of things. Many great leaders have been created because they suffered in the early part of their lives, so they could commisserate with those who suffer and work towards eliminating suffering. Our Prophet Mohammad lost his father even before he was born, as his father died when his mom was pregnant with him. Then his mother died at age six. He grew up in the loving care of his uncle, yet, he knew he missed out on the love of his mom. This could make him relate to those who did not have parents. But, he showed that the Lord Most High has more love than seventy moms, because when you connect with the Mighty ONE, you realize that he is always looking out for your best interest in the cosmic scheme of things.
If you look only at THIS WORLD and divorce it from after-life then it seems silly. If you just judge the crowd jostliing to buy a ticket in the heat and not enjoy the show that will come later, then indeed it may seem silly. But any toil or misery or hardship on this earth by anyone is going to be compensated.
Many times old people suffer perhaps to alleviate some of their sins or may be they are good people, who deserve to get a better seat in heaven, but have not done enough good deeds. In contrast men who are unrepentant and cruel my live a good life, like the cheater who does not want to stand in line and cheats and goes in front of others, but the theater people are watching him and banish him from ever entering the show!!
So, important thing is to remember not to judge things in a temporal manner, but see the broader implications. In my personal view, everyone on this earth is there for their own good. When their doing good is at its peak, voluntarily or involuntarily, then and only then they are raised up to the Lord.
If you draw a graph of our good deeds which voluntarily make us move closer to God or our suffering which involuntarily raises us closer to God, we reach our maximum potential that we deserve, then and only then do we die. Thus what you may see as a lingering man in the nursing home for all you know may be getting closer to God so fast, that you would want to take his place if you understood the whole set-up. It is also possible that his lingering is moving him closer to God, as his past sins are being washed away as he suffers.
Also remember that the poor and the suffering are our opportunity to get closer to the MOST HIGH. We can care for them and alleviate their pain, and ourselves move closer to the MOST HIGH, who has provided us with an opportunity to do good through them. May the Lord bless those who suffer and who are poor, as they are our opportunity and a window to the MOST HIGH.
I hope you will think about this, digest it. May the Almighty guide us all towards Him.

Clarence,
These are really complex questions you asked and we could philosophically talk about these for hours, but in a nut shell I'll try to answer here:
When God takes someone away, it is for a purpose. Taking away a mother from her children may seem horrible when its happening, but how do you know that if she lived, that something she did inadvertantly would have caused the death of her AND her children? There is no way you can know this one way or another, so we have to have faith that things happen for a good reason.
As for those found in beds that are old and sick, why should we judge their lives to have no value, even if we don't understand that value? Obvious those elderly have an impact on their families and their care givers, possible in some wonderful ways we don't understand.
Hope this helps broaden your mind on the subject.

The reason you are here is to test your faith and your character to see if you are worthy of Heaven. Look at the world around you. There are so many people who will tell you that there isn't a God and they try to explain away religion.
God could come to us and explain everything to us and we would understand and everyone would have undying faith. But that would taint the test. You have to be free to pass or fail the test on your own. If everything in this world was fair, then we would know that there is a God. For the test to work, there has to be confusion and doubt.
Now it's up to you as to whether or not you are still confused and have doubts. Just remember, God can call "Time's up" on anybody at any time and your test will be scored as is.
One last thing, when someone dies, on Earth it is considered a tragedy, in Heaven it's a home coming celebration.

We will always have sick and old among us, there are a lot of suffering. Even when Jesus was here on earth, He did not heal all the sick. He did not force everybody to believe in Him, and free will is existing even today.
When John the Baptist asked from Jesus if He was really the Messiah, or if they should be looking for somebody else ( And He was the on who baptized Jesus and was living sharing the Word of God, He was Elisabeth's Son...the son who was already in his mothers womb when Mary came to tell her that she was pregnant by God' s child )...you need to remember that John was in jail at the time...Why Jesus did not help him out with all his authority...Jesus answered that do not look at your understanding, see that people are healed, sick get well and gospel is told around him....and did John never get out???NO. His head ended up to be cut because the evil mother's and daughter's scheme.....So there has always been things that are not fair...
But what I do not understand that even people who do not believe God, blames Him when things start to go wrong...
Do not be afraid of people's criticism.

Because the only way for humans to learn things-like patience, for example, or tolerance-is through trials and tribulations. The person with no quality in his life probably suffers far more than the mother of a deceased, because he is lost and does not know how to find hope. The mother is suffering, but she has learned many things from her child and maybe will help a lot of other people become more spiritual & teach them to help others.

Perhaps for the same reason God took away my close friend while he was lying on his old mother’s lap a few months ago. It matters not what you believe but the fact remains that you are born to die. Pray tell me, what happiness can be more for a mother to give birth to a child and see that child she nestled so fondly on her lap during his early years to breath his last after 35 years in the comfort of her same warm lap. Old or young, death is but a cruel happiness which we have to accept - better with a smile.

God knows and we just can see , for sure He knows that taking away a mother of a young child is the best for both the mother and child....how many children are living with their moms and are not happy or even abused.....how many children are abused by their step father...... We should always keep in mind that God is the Most merciful.

That only tells you what many dissagree in god is just like us since we where made in the image of himself he has the power to cause suffering kill but doesnt really cares how much suffering he can cause my question is if there is a god and hes so powerful why not stop the suffering in the world all hunger why who knows maybe because he doesnt whant to or he cant or more likely there is no god.Only you can give shape to your life no one else but first need to understand that we have freewill wich means we can sin and we sin because we whant to we have a choice and yet we choose to do wrong.

God's motives are mysterious, but if you believe in Heaven, leaving this earth is more of a blessing than a curse. God obviously has a design for everyone's life and he orchestrates our events and the order in which they occur. Perhaps he leaves the old to raise the orphaned young and share their experience and wisdom with the next generation.

When all is said and done we don't know that death may be a release to a better life and place. God may have done my father a favor by taking him so young and he may not be doing me a favor by letting me live for so long. I only know it's God's will so I live on.
