There is no difference between the two. Murder is murder no matter how it's done,

Okay, if you think police action of shooting someone is legalized murder, then how do you expect a police officer to apprehend a criminal that's shooting at them with a gun? Throw rocks at them and hope that one of them hits the crook on the head and knocks them out?

Let's not go overboard here and not have common sense on what is right and what is wrong. Yes, in an ideal Utopia there would be no guns and we would not have to have this conversation of what is murder or not, but we are far from a Utopian society so common sense has to prevail here.

Abortion is only murder in a religious context or if you consider a fetus a viable living being. I consider killing a fetus murder only after the point where a normally developed fetus would have been able to survive outside the mother's womb. Prior to that, it's just a personal issue that only the fetus' parents can decide. A two month old fetus is not a living being. It only lives because it's life is sustained by the mother. If you removed that fetus from the mother, it would not be able to survive.

I also find it very righteous that others can decide what is right for the fetus' parents. What if the parents don't want to have a baby because they can't support it. Force the parents to have the child and that child could end up in foster care for the rest of his/her life. Are you as Mr./Mrs. conservative going to take care of every child in foster care? So rather than give the potential parents the choice, you've decided to ruin three lives instead.

Abortion is murder because it is the killing of an innocent life. A police officer defending him/herself against a crimial, or protecting someone else is not killing an innocent person -- if they were then it would also be murder on their part.

I used to not get the whole abortion thing either until my late 20s since I was never around babies and the whole pro-choice / pro-life debate was just that -- a debate of words and only thing concrete that I could relate to was "my body" and nobody telling me what to do.

Once you spend some time with babies and realize how innocent and yet full of hope they are, and then once you are actually pregnant and have been touched with the ability to create new life you will get it. Or you can get it now if you just stop to appreciate that life is life and if taking the life of a tiny being (who at just weeks old can already suck their thumb in the womb) is not murder, then what is?

One would have to break down the different facts that revolve around each situation. With abortion one would have to define when life truly begins and at what point in a pregnancy is it truly okay to abort the pregnancy. Each state has there own opinion. As for police officers committing murder one has to understand the definition of murder. To murder someone you would need to illegally kill them, as in without the consent of the government or public. Depending on the scenario, most police officers kill with the consent of the government behind them to do so.

I'm sure the people who say abortion is murder also says it's murder when cops kill people. I guess when cops do it, it is more for self-defense or 'for the good of others". But an un-born fetus has no choice so maybe that is why it is more controversial.

do u kill bugs then thats murder. if u are going to compare then thats not right. abortion is a choice cops dont chose to shoot people sometimes they have to cause they themselves are in danger. is the baby harming the parent so much that they have to kill the baby by aborting i dont think so. abortion is murder plan and simple. the baby does not harm anyone so much that it needs to be murdered. cops are protecting us be grateful for them defending the town u live in. u really need to reevaluate ur beliefs about certain things

Abortion is killing an Innocent life...who has no say in what happens what so ever...A cop doesnt just kill random people (and if they do thats sad) but normal cops dont....the person had to have threatened the cops life or someone elses and they feel like they have to step in....you cannot compare an innocent life to someone who has obviously made wrong choices and isnt so innocent...and who has a say in their future...someone has to do something wrong in order to a cop be present, let alone for them to pull their guns on you!

these are two completely different situations. if you were being robbed i'm sure you wouldnt care if the cops came in and killed the person who was robbing you or beating you and i'm sure after it you would have considered that a necessary murder but abortion is not necessary. that is the difference. and dont eventry saying that you wouldnt want the cops to kill someone who breaks into your house or threatens your life because you have never been in a life threatening situation like that.

Murder is premeditated. Killing someone in self defense or to protect the lives of others is not murder. Knowingly going to a clinic to end the life of an unborn child is.

Because I think that cops should be able to kill unborn fetus's.

I believe this my be the dumbest question I've ever heard.

Yeah, cops are murderers, lets take them down.

Murder is Murder... here in earth,,, cops,,, soldiers,,, etc. (anybody who has the liscence to kill ) isn't a murderer,,, they kill for the life of someone... or something,,, but "afterlife" they're criminals... and acording to the divine rights... nobody has the right to kill someone.. but the things is if its your turn its your turn,,, its a journey... you must be killed in the certain way on a certain time its how your life works,,, so i think murderer are doing their mission (i think)... but don't kill someone... as long as you can...

sorry (to all the cops here)....
