The love between a married man and woman is supposed to be unconditional; an example of God's unconditional love for us. It is unconditional and unbreakable. Therefore, so to is the martial bond. For this reason, married couples should not take the Sacrament of Marriage or their marital vows lightly.

Yes, sometimes married couples will become unhappy, either with themselves or their life circumstances. But again, they are to be example of God's love, and god's love transcends all obstacles. So to must the married couple weather the bad times as well as the good.

No. A marital bond cannot be disolved through the courts. God's Law transcends all earthly law. Just because a couple's marriage is disbanded legally, does not mean it is disbanded Spiritually.

If there are children involved, it is all the more important that the married couple exhibit God's love in the form of selfless sacrifice for the greater good of the family.

Only by practicing a Christ-like lifestyle can a family function the way it is intended.

God wants us to be happy, but He does not guarantee happiness. Somtimes, circumstances beyond our control lead to unhappiness. Much of the time, however, unhappiness is a result of our own doing.

The question is unanswerable and the answer is irrelevant. If you are a Catholic then you should follow the teachings of the Catholic Church. If you want a divorce just because you are not happy with your spouse you are not a good Catholic. The Bible teaches us that there are only two reasons to put aside a wife ... because she is barren or because she has been unfaithful.

The other reason that the answer is irrelevant is that divorces are granted by the State not by the Church. The Catholic Church will grant you an annulment if you can fulfill their requirements for it.

So, if you are unhappy, and you can ignore the teachings of your church and live at peace with yourself ... then file for divorce in the courts and resign yourself to living outside the community of your Church.

Or, go to the church and seek counseling on how to improve your relationship with your spouse.

Decide whether you want to be Catholic ... or be unmarried.

I think everything is unfair in the Catholic religion personally but you will find that they will forgive this "sin" for the right price. You aren't asking the right questions. Rather than asking if they will grant the divorce, ask how much it would cost to get divorced. I bet they will have an answer to that one. It's all in the wording. Everything can be bought in the Catholic church.

Divorce is allowed. One just can't remarry. If, however, one has been married in a civil ceremony and divorced, He/She can remarry in The Church, as that previous marriage isn't considered valid. Also, annulments are granted sometimes if the union was never consummated. In that case remarriage is permissible.

Of course not, but isn't it kind of odd that a person who has never been married and can never be married is an authority on what makes marriages work?
