Mechanical engineering is very wide field.
Just to give you an Idea;-

Design a product say hair pin. Mech engineer makes a drawin g showing how it will look in three dimension. determine if it will function as intended, send it into manufacturing area where if there is any problem, then redesign so manufacring problem can be solved. he also deals materials, to determine if the material use will stand up in the real life. Also he thinks of cost aspect to make it affordabls, and designs accordingly.

Designing a system. Let us say AC system. Mech engr has to know what machine,how big or small, with what capacity,and feature will be required. Then me makes a layout to determine the proper arrangement of machine, ducts, outlets, etc and work with electrical engineer to make sure that system will without problems.

This very small part of engineering.You need to make calculations to determine requirements.

The short answer is that mechanical and electrical engineers apply science and math to mechanical and electrical problems of a technical nature. They both must be familiar with the basics of most other engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, chemical, aeronautical, civil, etc.) so that they can cooperate and collaborate with other engineers. They must both study physics, chemistry and advanced math. However, each must also study the more advanced applications of science within their own specialized field. For example, mechanical engineers may study more about nuclear engineering and structures while electrical engineers may study more about electrical distribution and complex circuits. Both study the use of computers and programs to solve typical problems within their chosen fields.

Once in the field the engineers apply their technical knowledge to the specific problems assigned which may be as narrow as designing better and smaller resistors to very diverse situations such as designing (or operating) major power plants. Hope that helps a little.

An electrical engineer does just that. From developing, distribution, balancing power to low voltage controls that make machines work. The home you live in, the car, etc. had to be engineered

Machanical engineers do somethings for machine. and electrical engineers work for electricity, motor, ect.

To start off I am a Mechanical Engineer. Our profession is very broad based. I took classes ranging from Mechanics of materials, Energy (heat transfer, thermodynamics, etc...), classes on analysing stresses(Ansys, Finite element model, etc), and fundamentals of electrical engineerng. In my senior year, I had to choose what emphasis I wanted to focus on (Energy, Transportation, Mechtronics, Materials). That is why I chose mechanical engineering; it is so broad, that it gives you many options of where to find work after graduation
