The law has been passed and ALL the illegals are ordered back to their respective countries. How is this done? Who organizes the round up?
What if they say no? Does that lead to chaos and horribile ramifications?
Please tell me HOW......we can accomplish this goal AND at the same time keep civil disturbance to a minimum?
Please no ridiculous answers.......just one good answer would make me change MY stance in a heartbeat and may do the same for someone else.

How about going after the thousands instead of the million. The thousands of business' that hire illegals. How about we go after the thousands of people that can work, but would rather collect a welfare check, food stamps. You or I are not going to change nobodies mind. These idiots are not the majority. The govt. is going after the millions when all it has to do is go after the thousandths.

The problem with answering this is that I actually think once we have border security and dismantle the magnets that draw illegal immigrants across, we should legalize screened illegals (not citizenship and no right to quadruple their numbers by bringing absent family.)
However, that said, there are so many states and towns which have 'sanctuary' rules not allowing their police to ask about immigration status when they stop people for other reasons that just doing away with that would pick up quite a lot. Homeland Security estimates that just this year 302,000 will be put into county and state jails where deportation after sentence served is not typically followed as it is in federal prison. That would be another large number to go, and would be a recurring number, though with luck a decreasing number over time. Employers will start cracking down as the employee database comes on line and enforcement is realistic, which will remove job magnets. Removing benefits above emergency benefits would remove many more magnets. At that point, why would they want to stay? Many might but many would not stay. If we had border security we would start to winnow the numbers down. Granted they would not go to zero, they would significantly reduce the problem, particularly the part having to do with increased crime and gangs.
-----
It isn't too hard but you frame 'deportation' very narrowly. Enforcement would be a huge start, and aberational, from what I've seen. A major jump in illegal immigration hit in 2005, the charts have a towering spike for 2005, and 2006 hasn't been charted yet. Even REDUCING the inflow and making it less attractive to be here would be a big difference.
I don't think 12 million people will be deported, but it isn't because of logistics. I think Americans would not be able to stand day in and day out of Eagle Scouts and decorated Vets and honors students getting deported along with the gang members and convicted criminals. I think there would be outcry and eventually no enforcement. I think that given that illegals are likely to be legalized we should not be contemplating a huge raise in immigration through a guest worker plan, though.

This is a good question. Thank you for asking it.
This country has shown that it is capable of doing anything. We have put a man on the moon. We have brought democracy to Iraq. We ended the terror of the Taliban in Afghanistan. If we had truly honorable people in Congress, instead of a bunch of clowns and spineless weaklings, and they wanted to, they could get these trespassers out.
Regular citizens could do a better job than the government has done. If they would give the local police the authority to hold suspected illegal criminals here, they could find out their legal status. If determined that this individual is in fact illegal, they should be deported right away. It would make a significant difference even when the police pulled them over for a minor traffic violation. It would here, I know. Almost ALWAYS when police pull Mexicans over, it is for a DWI and they NEVER have car insurance or proper license. If the local and state police could deport even those people, it would make a positive change here.

Well, this could be done quite similarly to the way the Nazis rearranged Europe or the South Africans implemented first the pass laws and then apartheid. The Americans could enact a law saying that Mexicans and other "non-natives" must wear a special patch on their clothing or be subject to heavy fine, imprisonment or even death. Then the government could introduce regulations restricting where such people could be at certain times of the day, effectively a curfew confining them to special ghettos. From there, it's not too hard to just send in troops, round them up, put them all on cattle cars and transport them to concentration camps, where they will be sent to the g....uh-oh, I forgot, this is a kinder, gentler racist regime, isn't it? So they would just be kicked out of the country and Americans could steal their stuff.

Thank you for asking a fair question, I hope you follow through and not just pass off the answers given to you, relating to the question of course.
I say don't take my word for it, listen to the brave Americans at the border that deal with these issues everyday. Listen to what they have to say about it, and I agree with them 100%:
And in case you don't want to hear the truth:
The Union's Solution
The local has a simple solution to the border crisis: Shut the border down to illegal crossings, and then start hammering the greedy employers who hire them:
"Start deporting, we repeat, deporting, the illegal aliens who are here in violation of law. It may take years, but you don't build a house overnight."
As to criminalizing the illegals – one of the great sticking points in the immigration reform debate – the union does not understand what all that fuss is about. They explain that it is already a federal crime to enter the country without inspection – specifically under title eight of the U.S. Code, section 1325.
Under that current law, a first offense is punishable by a fine and up to six months in jail, a second offense is punishable by a fine and up to two years in jail.
Says the union: "Many media outlets are incorrectly reporting that it is only a ‘civil offense.' No, it's just that we can't persuade the U.S. attorney's office to prosecute anyone for 8 USC 1325 – unless they're also an axe murderer, so they are charged with the ‘civil offense' and sent home."

Since forever the law says that if you are here illegally, you will get deported.
And since forever, they are not doing a good job deporting them. Why do you think it will be different this time? Shake the head and put the brain to work

Yes, it would be hard to corral 12 million people. I imagine companies suspected of hiring illegal people will be audited, and it would be difficult or impossible for them to get a job. I assume people found hiring illegals will have charges press on them. that is my guess.
The main argument I have is that certain groups are exempted from deportation.

Lets put it this way. Would you like to abandon your hopes and dreams and get back on your Mayflower, leave my island, and go back where you came from? Half of me could pitch a tent in your backyard; half of me could get on that Mayflower with you and get droped off in Scotland. What then? The issue is both absurd and nothing but hypocracy. This country was built by illeagal aliens, everyone but us natives seams to forget that:

I understand your question is hypothetical. No problem with that.
No, we don't have to round them up. If the current laws were enforced, most (but never all, of course) illegals would be gone from the USA over a period of time, years, but that would be alright. Things would happen methodically, and we have time to allow it to happen, if the laws were strictly enforced. And, if the laws were enforced, a large number of illegals would deport themselves, which would not cost America anything for those ones. First and foremost, if all employers who hire illegals were to feel the strongest arm of the law for this practice, this would cease very quickly and that alone would be one of the biggest disincentives to illegal immigration. Many illegals, if unable to find work, would leave and soon word would spread to their friends and relatives that it is not possible to go to the USA to have a better life, unless you want to apply through the correct and legal procedures and if you want it badly enough, that will be the only way to do it.
If the President of the USA would stop "hinting" at rewards to the illegals, for one thing, that would go a long way to discourage illegal immigration. I've seen in the news that just the idea of possible "amnesty" as mentioned by GWB has encouraged even more illegals to head for the USA. In one breath he's talking about amnesty and in the other breath he's talking about "tightening up the border." Talk about mixed messages! (That old "wink, wink" thing again.)
Remove the anchor baby law from the books. This is also a huge incentive to illegal immigrants because they believe that by having their babies born in the USA, they will eventually get to stay and, if nothing else, at least their children will be able to. As well, they use this to take advantage of the USA's generous social benefits by being able to get welfare, etc. for their American citizen children (and themselves, by association).
Have police officers and corrections officials check identification and resident status whenever they have contact with people for even minor infractions and if they find them to be illegal, deport them immediately, no exceptions whatsoever. This may sound cruel to some, if they have families here that they are going to be separated from, but they should have thought about that before and it will only take a few instances of this happening before other illegal immigrants will take it upon themselves to take their families home BEFORE this can happen to them, and will also discourage others from coming in illegally and bringing their families in with them.
If schools have to check resident status at the time of parents registering children, a lot would be found this way and would be deported immediately, children and parents altogether.
If hospitals could check and verify resident status whenever anyone comes for treatment, they could administer only emergency treatment and call INS officials and deport them immediately.
Some of this sounds cruel, but I can guarantee you that the cruelty would not go on very long before illegal immigrants would get the message and deport themselves.
The problem of illegal immigration would almost be completely eradicated within a matter of, at most, a couple years, and at far less cost than we presently spend by having them here.
There would be no need for "cruelty" to illegals because once they understand that we mean business in enforcing our laws, it will be their choice to leave or stay and if they choose to stay then they choose to accept the responsibility for that decision. The USA has the right to enforce its laws, just the same as any country does and we should not be made to feel guilty for doing so. We are NOT responsible for the poor of the world. I think the USA does more than any other country to help the poor of the world, but the citizens of the USA do not have to be made to feel that they can be walked on and taken advantage of because of their generosity.
Sure, if the illegal immigrant problem can be gotten under control, then maybe it will be time to reconsider what our needs are for immigrants and maybe change the rules to allow more equal access to people of all levels of economic status and fix the Immigration program so that applications don't take so long. But first and foremost, we have to get control of the illegal problem and then reassess our system.
You asked for it, and I gave you my opinion. Please be open-minded. I feel that Ann and Dar were both on target here, also.
