It could be you are having anxiety attacks. That can cause the heart rate to change. Talk to a Doctor to see if that could be it.

Strangely enough, I've had the same problem. This is very personal, but if you've ever suffered from an eating disorder, they cause palpitations. And since the palpitations only happen rarely or when you're engaging in a certain behavior, a physician can't detect them unless you're having them at the very time that you're in the office. If you go to a hospital cardiologist, they can probably give you a heart monitor to carry around (luckily, mine was detatchable and and the size of an iPod) and you can record the attack while it happens and it will let them see what's going on in there.

You may be having anxiety attacks that perhaps a seditive could relieve. Does it occur when you become nervous or does the nervousness come into play because of the palpitations. Your answer should be discussed with a physician, its very common and their are many medications available to help relieve this. Also some drugs can cause these side effects for instance some of the most commonly used asthma inhalers do this.

The same thing happened to me and after 3 emergency room visits, my midwife told me to see a chiropractor. I went and he took x-rays(he also said never trust one who doesn't) and found out that my back had been popped in over time and it was pressing against my heart! all I can really tell you is that it worked for me and it was amazing! I can now tell when I really need to go because the palpitations come back but it's not often anymore. It does feel like an anxiety attack or something! I would never had known if someone hadn't pointed me in the right direction! Hope this helps!!!

Um, you could have a somatoform disorder, but I doubt it, you could see a different doctor or get the test done again.

your having anxiety attacks, nothing to worry about, it won't harm you, but you do need to see your doctor about it, and he/she may put you on some medication to calm the anxiety down.
