My friend you need to accept the work that Christ provided. read 2 corinth 5:17-21 that explains it all. if you accept Christ then you are a new creation...not that your sins just get forgiven. its so much more than that. because if the sin is forgiven but my nature stays the same what good would that do? No you see when you accept Christ you receive a new nature from within you. you are a new creation. you get a brand new spirit. a new "heart" and then your past is wiped away and you can start a fresh! then once you accept this new creation in your life by accepting Christ as saviour and Lord you then become the righteousness of God in christ. that means you are in right standing with God! now here is the kicker if it aint your righteousness whose is it? God's right? right. and you didnt earn it and God gave you his righteousness then you have his righteousness and therefore that means you are just as righteous as God is! so no more worries about your past that past aint you anymore

To forget your sins would require you to forget why Christ had to die for you. What an awful thing that would be! Not to mention, if you have managed not to commit any new sins - you are a much better person than me.
If you find yourself obsessing about your sins, that is different. Prayer and bible study will help you learn to trust that Christs blood was sufficient - for all your sins regardless of severity.
If you have been unusually sad for more than two weeks or if these thoughts have been affecting your daily life you may want to talk to a pastor or counselor about depression. Depression is not lack of faith but lack of chemicals in the brain.

You don't forget them. You learn from them. I have some sins in my past, but I don't forget them. God will forgive me my sins if I TRULY repent of them. But I don't want to forget them, otherwise I might do it again. I will never be perfect, and I will likely always sin, but at least I can use knowledge of my sin to help me further my walk.

First you must forgive yourself, before you can continue. Have any of your "sins" affected others? Have you asked them for forgiveness?
In doing this, this may relieve you of the burden your conscious is putting on you. God forgives, but people as well as ourselves find it difficult. If you can still mend your transgressions with others with honestly and caring, you will free yourself of your burdens. Even if they do not forgive you, if you are sincere, from your heart that you are sorry, and in taking responsibility in asking for forgiveness, you will feel better.
Hope that this provides some insight. Good luck.

first of all, you need to admit all your sins, and promise not to do it again. someone once told me that the memory remains in purpose for you not to repeat it.
so, you need to be 'born again'. I don't know about your faith. but i'm a christian... and being 'born again' means that you will start living a new life, and never to worry about your past and sins again... and then you will need to learn on how to start thinking about your future and plan it and work it...
if you really do it, i'm sure you don't even have the time to think about the past anymore... God bless you...

You can never forget your past, but letting go of it will be the first step.

Your pains/story will be the medicine that heals another.
Learn to love yourself, forgive yourself and move on.
I noticed you used the word sin..so I am assuming that you are Christian. Pray, seek inner peace.
Good luck

did you pray to God with sincere tears of repentance. If you did then you are without a doubt forgiven. When you relize this you can forgive yourself and FORGET.
