ok hun u want silky hair "DOVE" silky shampoes and conditioners work the best (use their detangling spray too). then comb your gorgous locks with a small detangling comb. Then DONT BLOW DRY IT!!!! Most people do blow dry hair then it gets matted if its too thick and you dont do it right. Then the seceret is to brush it every 5 minutes or so till its strait, silky, smooth and dry (to a point where its not badly damaged) oh if you have damaged hair or damaged scalp just use head and shoulders flake free dangeroff shampoe before you use the "DOVE" shampoe and conditioners (even if you dont have danderoff it will help repare your scalp and make it healthier healthier hair means shinier, silkier hair too)

P.S I'm no advice colemnest but I hope this helps you I have a simalier problem (but really thin hair)

Do not use oil. Oil coats the hair and eventually makes breakage. Try Biolage Conditioning Balm. Or something like it. Put it on your hair and then wrap it in a towel. Let it stay for as long as you want to. Rinse and dry or let air dry. Very silky hair.

This will sound funny - but use Head & Shoulders. I started using it years ago because I had kind of oily hair but a really dry scalp (dont know how that works, but whatever) so it was an odd situation to clear up. It completely evened everything out. My scalp is perfectly healthy now and my hair is soft and silky, not oily and not too dry. If you need even extra moisture, get 2in1 Head&Shoulders - but I really recommend this shampoo!!!!! TRUST ME!

Get at least 1" cut off the ends and keep it in long layers. Deep condition weekly in the beginning, then twice a month once you get it to the feel you like.

Frizzease makes some excellent products that will repair damaged hair and leave it silkier. Also, use mousse instead of gels so that you get more movement in the hair.

The longer your hair gets, the thicker and silkier it will feel.

I bet you don't want to apply oil either because your hair is already greasy at the top or you are afraid of zits or both. I am here to help you.

First, your hair NEEDS oil, natural or added, to be silky. Just don't use mineral oil- it will clog pores and give you zits. Try natural oils, like Jojoba oil or coconut oil. I use coconut oil, and it hasn't given me any zits.

Only use 1 drop, spread out over both your palms, and only put it on from the ears to the ends.

Quit dying it. Quit swimming in pools. Quit using heat like blowdrying or curling irons. Quit hanging out around people who smoke- it wreaks havok on hair. Quit wearing any sort of metal in your hair. Quit touching it so much (your hainds absorb natural scalp oil.)

Paul Mitchell makes a product called SuperSkinny Serum. It makes hair feel smooth and silky. I know that other professional lines of product make similar items, but I'm not sure of their names. Try the Paul mitchell, I love it.

Wash your hair with Pantenes moisturizing shampoo or use Pantenes other shampoo and conditioner that says 75% silkier shinier hair. That one works great. Also you can mix your own shampoo. Use egg and a teaspoon of honey, its kind of gross but it works great. Also Tea Tree oil conditioners and shampoo make your hair really soft and shiny.
