Ashley can become Ash for short for a girl
Ashton can become Ash for short for a boy!

I love the name 'Ashley' for a guy. I think it sounds really high class and gentlemanly. When I hear the nickname 'Ash', I always tend to imagine it as a boy's name. It could definitely be a girl's name too, though.

I immediately think of a boy because of the movie "Army of Darkness." The lead character's name was Ash. Also, in "Gone With the Wind," the man Scarlett likes is named Ashley.

it can be suitable for both but fits more on girla like ashley or asha or aishwarya. it can fit on boys also as ash of pokemon. ahs can sound strong sometimes like boys & some times sweet and daisy like girls.
