Many eons ago when I was a little girl, I remember we were taught in school that the Native Americans named their children after what they saw outside the teepee after the baby was born. So, when I got my little kitten, I named her "Blue Sky", after the beautiful sky I saw that day.

Another option is, what does the kitten look like? Is it orange with stripes? That is like marmalade or a tiger.
