Something like that, yeah. I mean, we're all somewhat biased when we pick answers to our questions, but with those particular cases any evidence or arguments that I provide fall on willfully deaf ears.

This is the best way I can explain why people will not hear the word of God..............
Mat 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.
Mat 13:17 For truly I say to you that many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them; and to hear what you hear, and have not heard them.
Mat 13:18 Therefore hear the parable of the sower.
Mat 13:19 When anyone hears the Word of the kingdom and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown by the wayside.
Mat 13:20 But that which was sown on the stony places is this: he who hears the Word and immediately receives it with joy.
Mat 13:21 But he has no root in himself, and is temporary. For when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the Word, he immediately stumbles.
Mat 13:22 And that sown into the thorns is this: he who hears the Word; and the anxiety of this world, and the deceit of riches, choke the Word, and he becomes unfruitful.
Mat 13:23 But that sown on the good ground is this: he who hears the Word and understands; who also bears fruit and produces one truly a hundredfold; and one sixty; and one thirty.

Some people require more time to get to the point of accepting God in their lives. Some people are given a gift from God. This gift is the gift of slumber least they sin the unforgivable sin.
Some people are happy being in the world and just don't care.
If people don't really care, they should be silent.

People are afraid they might have a positive experience with God. This might make them actually consider changing their life styles, which scares a ton of people.
It's really just a new beginning, with someone to hold your hand through the rough spots and show you where you should be going.

It is difficult for some to believe that something perfect (God) can create something imperfect (people), and to know so many who claim to know God as the ones who do such horrible things to others. So if you believe in God you would have to believe in people and if you look around that can be a little scary! So we go to the one we trust the most and learn to believe in ourselves.

Man is naturally an inconsiderate and incredulous creature: he must have extraordinary things to arrest and fix his attention; and he requires well- attested miracles from God, to bespeak and confirm his faith. Every person who has properly considered the nature of man must see that the whole of natural religion, so termed, is little else than a disbelief of all religion.

I figure that no one knows for sure he exists, whether or not they are saying that they believe or not, and that the non-believers pretty much all have some kind of doubt.

I don't know whether god exists or not. I really don't care. I try to live my life according to my own philosophy.
