You know about this? Lets say you are entering a building behind someone and you have to go through 2 or 4 sets of double doors that are fairly close together. Someone ahead of you repeatedly holds a door for you. Do you thank this person at each door, in the beginning or at the last door. It seems kind of mononous to thank the person for each door opening. I sometimes thank people at each door, or I just say thank you once in the beginning or the end and have never had complaints. What do you folks say?

If you know they're going to open more than one door for you, I think you should thank them once at the first door, so they know you appreciate it, and then again, after the last door, as a final closure to the favour they've done to you.

I easily have a very similar difficulty with ups. the driving force who has been a jerk for the 8 years we've lived the following threatened my daughter over a kit that become by no skill delivered yet shown delivered. We contacted the sender who filed a declare and now the driving force gained't provide and all applications at the instantaneous are lower back to the sender. Many web content do not provide a call as to what company they use to deliver the products you purchase. So the remark above about using fedex is extremely absurd. i have also contacted united statescompany huge type and continually get a delightful reply yet no decision. They promise the priority will be resolved yet as a lot as now no decision has occurred. This leaves me to imagine united statesisn't fascinated in decision yet extremely the quick dollar. trust me i'd extremely deal in uncomplicated phrases with yet another company yet do not have any administration over who my companies use to deliver applications. I do tell each and each at the same time as this occurs in the hopes that they are going to all keep away from united statesaltogether. some have switched to fedex or usps. If sufficient swap united stateswould be begging for artwork and fairly keen to end being jerks.

I would say Thank You at the first door, nod my head at the second, and at the 3rd and 4th door Id either nod or say Thank You. But that if you even say thanks. If it were me Id run ahead of the person before they got to the next door and open it myself.

I'd thank them for the first door, then when it looked like they'd end up getting all of them, I'd just wait until the last door and thank them again.

Thank you for the first door, then a nod and smile for the rest. Although, why saying thank you four times, would strain your voice, I have no idea. It seems a simple act to thank someone for their assistance.

I usually thank the person twice then after that, just give a nod and a slight chuckle. A smile will get the point accross nicely.

Personally, I say thank you for each and every door... and I always feel foolish :o) But I guess there are worse things than being polite!! haha.

Yes, body language will denote itself. After all the doors have been opened then you say thank you.

I temporarily live in Quebec, where everyone just slams the door back in your face, and personally, even with this, I still say thanks, every single time, even as the person in front of me pretends that they have not heard me, since they could use the lesson in etiquette.

No need to repeat any salutation, but your body language will serve the purpose.
