She is a 1 1/2 year old Chihuahua that IS spayed. I don't understand why she is doing this. She has never done this before. I take her out very often.

What should I do?

If this is a sudden behavior change, go to the vet, she may be trying to tell you she is sick.
If not, she is trying to convince you she is boss dog.
Keep her on a leash, even in the house, for a while, so that she can't get to the bed without you watching her and correcting her if she goes. Also, the leash is a way to show her that you are pack leader not her.
If you catch her going, say loud "No, bad dog" and take her out immediatly. Praise her as though she went outside even if nothing else comes out of her. Take her back into the house.
Take her outside (still on her leash) after she eats and naps. Stay outside with her and repeat "go potty" over and over until she goes. Praise her like crazy and take her back into the house. No playing, you want her to understand the difference between play time and potty time.
This will take a little while. Be firm and consistent.
Remove all the stains and smells from the bed. Try Urine-off or Nature's Miracle in pet stores.
Another thing to try is a litter box. They make them for dogs now, go figure. Put it on the bed where she goes and see what she does. If she uses it, praise her and gradually move it to where you want it. Either way, good luck and be patient with her.

Have you brought another dog home or any other big changes in your home and routine? Dog's react just like humans do to change...not very well! LOL! Has your daily schedule changed or do you have a new baby, etc.? Dogs will mark their territories by peeing/pooping where this "stranger" has been. Or, she just may be having some urinary problems, etc. Have a vet check her out to rule out a physical problem first and then go from there. Small dogs are very hard to train and regressing is pretty common. Just keep working with her and be consistant. Reward her for good behavior and put her in her"house", kennel, her bed, behind a puppy gate, etc. when you cannot watch her every move. Hope this helps!

Have you had her since she was a pup? She must be upset about something. If you adopted her it could be that she has behavior problems. Like a history of abuse. If I were you I would ask the vet that you take her to. Most Vets will answer questions over the phone (for free) If it's something your dog just started doing she might be sick. A huge change in her environment might also be the cause. Ask your vet!!! That's the best advice I can think of.

I'd say attachment. does she do it when you aren't home?

It's actually pretty common for dogs to poop in their master's shoes when they miss them.

If you walk her a lot, then I guess she only feels comfortable with you around. I'd say, establish an authoritative position with the dog, or see her less. It could be messy at first, but believe me, in the long run, it may work.

Marking her territory telling you, you are hers. Did you get a b/f recently or have a friend stay in your room? If anything just keep your bedroom door closed.

Your dog wants something from you. Unfortunately, I can't tell you what. Any changes in her life she's protesting?
