No.
But you are close, you just have it reversed, cats will go blind if they eat nothing but dog food, there is some sort of nutrient that is in cat food that is not in dog food, with out the necessary nutrient a cat eating only dog food will lose it's eye sight.
My parents have to keep the cat food bowl out of reach of their dogs, because one of their dogs was eating the cat food as well as the dog food but it never harmed the dog.

I don't think you'll come home one day and find the dog suddenly blind, but it is important that dogs eat dog food and cats (especially) eat cat food, as the food has been carefully designed and balanced for each type of animal.

Eating cat food probably won't hurt your dog, though it's best that he doesn't eat it all the time. Cats and dogs require different diets. Cats are pure carnivores, meaning they typically eat nothing but meat, while dogs are omnivorous, meaning that they eat some plant materials along with their meat.
Cat diets are made primarily of meat and meat products, so in the long run they can be too rich for dogs and can cause digestive problems. They are also denser in calories than dog diets, so they can lead to obesity in dogs. Because of the additional fat and calories, cat food often tastes better to dogs than dog food does, so you may have to keep an eye on your dog to make sure he doesn't indulge in the kitty kibbles.
By the way, while cat food is generally okay for dogs, dog diets lack essential nutrients that cats need to stay healthy, so cats can't live on dog food. Overall, it's safest to feed your pets the kind of food formulated to be healthiest for their specific species. (Ferrets may be the exception. They are the only pets other than cats that are entirely carnivorous, which is why ferrets can live on cat food.)

Will I go blind if I eat a dog treat? I don't think so.
I've personally seen my dog eat lots of nasty things (including gravel that had peanut oil on it, although that did almost kill him).
Cat food cannot even remotely hurt a dog.

no,at least not immediatly, actually dogs like cat food and cats like dog food, however cat food doesn't have all the right vitamins, proteins and minerals that dogs need in it, short term won't hurt a dog at all, but i would think twice before feeding a dog cat food for a long period of time, Have a great Summer!!

My dogs only eat cat food. They won't eat dog food at all. And cat food has more protein than dog food. Our dogs have eaten it for 10 years, and they are all fine.

I do not think that there is any medical evidence to suggest that a dog will go blind if it consumed cat food.

No!!It is best if you can put the cat food out of reach tho. Cat food is made to a cat's needs and dog food is made to a dog's needs.

I'm not sure. I wouldn't think so. It's just meat, right? I would not feed by dog cat food for a long time, though, I'm sure it would create a vitamin deficiency or imbalance in his diet, but make him blind, I don't think so. But you never know with all the additives and crap they put in that food....

No, but cats do go deaf when eating dog food. Look it up in the bible, it even says on page 15.
