Remi:
The bottle does not say to not drink alcohol with it. The bottle states "Alcohol could intensify this effect. Use caution when operating a car or dangerous machinery."

I know all the first few answers you've received so far are supposed to be witty or funny or sarcastic or worldly, but THEY ARE DISGUSTINGLY STUPID !!!!!!!!! People such as you ought to have the right to sue people who give you such answers. I am a retired Mental Health practitioner, and have had several clients on Xanax. The very fact that they're on Xanax indicates psychological instability. One psychiatrist I worked with said, during a staffing where we present our client's information, "There has never been a medicine called a 'Medicine from Hell', but if there ever were a medicine called a 'Medicine from Hell', Xanax would be it!" He was a young and very well educated psychiatrist and he was very clear about what he said. Now, if you want to be a lab rat so that others can be humored by their own "wit and wisdom", well, go ahead. And if you and your friends want to play a risky game of seeing how many mg's of this and ounces of that will work together before you get medical or further psychological disorders, well, it's being done at YOUR own risk. Your "witty" and "worldy" responders above ought to be sued for giving such damaging information, and I pray you don't follow such stupidity. You know what your doctor told you about the mixture of Xanax and alcohol, and you can see the warning label on your bottle, so act according to licensed medical and pharmaceutical advice. Anything else is complete stupidity. God Bless you. Let me add here that, as I was answering your question only the first of your responses was accessible for me to read. It looks like you later responders showed maturity and intelligence. No offense meant to those who warned you against mixing the two. Thank You. God Bless you.

If alcohol and sleeping pills or anti-anxiety meds are taken together, it can cause potentiation. Simple explanation: 1+1=2, right? Not with drugs and alcohol. 1+1=3 or 4 .The two drugs react with each other to give an effect many times the expected outcome. So, unless you want to wake up in an emergency room having your stomach pumped, or make your parents attend you funeral, don't do it. Says right on the bottle. Do that and attend a party? Wouldn't need to hire a band, you'd be the entertainment, passed out on the floor.

Alcohol clears your milk as it clears your blood stream. As long as you are getting long stretched between feeds you should be okay. A small amount of alcohol does make it into your blood stream, so perhaps doing this everyday isn't a great idea. However if a couple times a week you have a span where you know you freshly fed baby is going to be okay for the next 4+ hours, go ahead, enjoy a glass of wine.

It totally depends on your metabolism and your tolerance to medication. There are many other factors that effect your body's reaction(s) to chemical altering substances (including caffeine, tryptophan, medications of all kinds, alcohol.. etc...)from what you have eaten before ingesting them to how well you had slept the night before to the temperature of the day/night...I think if you are accustomed to Xanax's effects, possess some level of conscious responsibility and/or are somewhat in tune with your body, then you would be the only person who could choose to mix those two things...Always in moderation!

Never mix alcohol, illegal drugs, prescriptions, even nutritional supplements. The company that made that cannot test wine + Xanax + tobacco + condoms. How many brands?

Drink as much as you can, and follow it up with a couple of Xanax for every swallow you had to take to get all the alcohol gone. You'll feel much better.

NO. Once you start on a prescription drug, you have a level of that drug in your system. the dosage on your prescription( twice a day, three times a day,....) are to maintan THAT level of the drug in your system for however long the doctor reccomends you take that drug.
So, even if it had been an hour after you took the drug, it's STILL in your system.
