He had his arm amputated just below his elbow. He has an awsome attitude about it. He's good looking and good personality.

Yes! Absolutely, and without a doubt. If you like someone, something like that shouldn't be a problem. If your brother is having troubles with girls, maybe he's just afraid to show his interest in girls, and most of us are afraid of rejection too. We like to know there's at least a slight chance of not being rejected by a guy once we finally get up the nerve to ask. Tell your sweet bro, to not be afraid- just look all the girls right in their eyes, and smile, and say hi. Then watch what happens. The right girl is just waiting. And by the way, tell bro that being a sharp dressed man always gets extra points. Good luck, and God bless you guys.

It's all about attitude. One of the most confident, outgoing men I know doens't have any legs. And you should see the number of girls lined up to ride around on his lap (in his wheelchair).

Personally, I'd have no problem with a guy without a limb. As long as he's fine with it and doesn't carry any excessive baggage around regarding it (to where it's not healthy for him or his mate), then I'd be all for it.

A good joke I heard from a guy in your brother's situation was: "Yeah, that stereo (or whatever fits the situation) I wanted was an arm and a leg but thankfully I had a coupon for 50% off".

You know I can relate to how he feels b/c I'm in a similar situation but my story is different. I won't go into details here but yes I know he will find someone who will love him unconditionally. If I found someone who accepted me then so can he. Tell your brother not to give up hope and just b/c he had his arm amputated doesn't mean he's not normal. I wish him the best and I truly hope he finds a nice girl suitable for him.

yes, i would. Just because his arm has been amputated doesn't mean girls won't see the great personality he's got on the inside. I go out with guys because of their personality and don't pay much attention to looks

I wouldn't, but I'm twice his age, married and male, so he won't feel too bad.

Guys get fat, lose their hair, go deaf, have prostate problems. Women know that. They look for the long haul. They can overlook missing parts. The good ones can, at least. Will he love her until death do them part? Read to the kids after dinner? Come home to his wife even when the guys at work go out to drink? Send her flowers on her birthday? Love her when she is 8.5 months pregnant and physical love is out of the question? Rub her feet with baby oil? None of those, you note, need two hands.

He shouldn't be heart-broken that some trollop with a room-tempeature IQ won't try to pick him up at a singles bar.

He ought to be careful of the sympathy angle, however; "Oh, poor baby, no one else will take him, I will; he NEEDS me . . ."
(Usually said by women without many other prospects.)

Have him try the normal routes - church, night school, a gym. (He probably wouldn't fit in a softball league, but if he could manage, have him go for it.)

Best of luck!

What low self esteem he must have. An arm doesn't make a man, a man with a good heart wins above all others, arm or no arm. And YES!...I would go out with a guy with 1 arm. Only shallow people wouldn't. Good luck to your brother!

Yes! I would. If he had a nice personality and treated me well, I would definitely date him. Plus because of his accident, I'm sure he respects life and values others more than most people. That's a very good quality to have. Plus I'm 24 so 25 is a perfect age to date :)

Sorry, I'm not a woman, but this is still a valid point:

If he's depressed about life after losing his arm, of course not. Who wants to date Eeyore?

If he's confident and gets over the loss, women will still date him. (Except for women too ignorant and stupid to get past his amputation, but who cares about people like that?)

People like being around people who enjoy life. Try helping him get over it.

An arm doesn't make a man. A man's heart, attitude, and integrity does. I date a gentleman that had his right leg amputated and it didn't bother me. He is an incredible man. IM me if he needs support. cravelife75@yahoo.com make sure to put it is from here should he im so that I add him to my friends list. I'm sure my friend that is an amputee would be thrilled to talk with him regarding questions or concerns if he needs a man to talk to. God bless, andrea

Yes, for an arm is just part of a person, it does not make the person who they are. It truly is how someone is on the inside, even though our society does not always view it that way.
