i am a foreinger. now i study english, but i found that which i learn and which i use ,or which i write is so difference from native speaker.i know the americans or englishmen also study english too. but now i am lack of the culture background and don't know what words still in vogue,what obsolete now.so i wanna catch up with the native speaker, i must know what the textbook did you learn when you in shcool ,and what site provide some useful and up-date language skill ,and so on.thanks for your help!

now i can know the first meaning of at least 10000 english vocabulary.i have learned a great of english grammer in high shcool , and when i was in college, i trended to read more and write some diary.so someone can tell me how to improve my english now? and we may make pen friends too. what i can exchage for you is to teach you some chinese or tell you some funny things in China, and i am a computer engineer, i maybe do some favors when your computer .. if you can bide my poor english

Textbooks and websites can't teach the natural way that native speakers talk. Try reading current bestsellers...or even books meant for young adults. That way you'll get the flow of ideas better and the logical progression between words, sentences, and paragraphs. Textbooks are too formal and too stiff to really get a feel for the language.

We need more details on your current educational level. But for Pre-school, thru grade school usually www.pbs.org or www.scholastic.com
