People who don't bathe regularly, like overweight, elderly and handicapped tend to be the ones drowning in perfume.
People have allergies that can be life threating on the spot when being forced to smell that crap.
And to think that smoking is outlawed almost everywhere while these toxic folks walk around making everyone sick.

I'm wondering why you're under the assumption that the cologne they wear is cheap. I've smelled expensive colognes/perfumes that smelled nasty. If your basing these colognes/perfumes as cheap, because of a bad scent, I think you may be mistaken. Many older people wear perfumes/colognes, that were popular years ago.

If a person bathes/showers, then there is no need for perfume/cologne. In some cultures it is common to wear some sort of scent to cover foul body odor because they don't or can't bathe daily (France immediately comes to mind). I prefer to bathe daily and not bother with perfume/cologne. I can't stand to smell a person's cologne long after they are gone. The smell of "clean" on the opposite sex is so much more appealing than even the most expensive perfume/cologne.

Most of the time, it's the rich, stick-up-their-noses people who put on a lot of perfume to show who's boss and can afford a bottle of White Rain a day. But then they put on all this perfume and crap and it ends up smelling terrible!

The intention of getting perfumed is to make other smell horrible as well to cover their foul-smell.

it's mostly old poeple who do this; i think it's cuz it was 'in' when they were younger or good or somthing. they're probably used 2 the smell and still think it as a good type even though it smells bad.

Actually, it's probably their body chemistry NOT mixing well with the scent making it smell not so good.
