Where you are stationed has NOTHING to do with how long you stay in the Army. Your stay in the Army is dependent on the length of time you enlisted into the Army for. If you sign a 2 year contract, you are in for two years. If you sign up for 4 years, you are in the Army for 4 years.

Used to be about four years. I know there was some talk a while back of "homesteading" so that the army lifestyle would not be so disruptive for families.

In the past, it could be a couple of year - but with war in Iraq - many stateside assignments could be for just a year. It also depends on what specialty (MOS) they have

Right about now, nothing is guaranteed, but it would have been 2-3 years.

It depends on what you do in the Army...talk to a recruiter...no, wait that's bad...they lie anyway, it's their job.
