"I believe God controls everything. He allows somethings because it will turn people to Him. "
So, God allows people to suffer disasters because they will turn to him? Then why don't they? Why is it that, when an earthquake in Bangladesh kills 10,000 people (many of them children), the survivors don't all become Christians right on the spot? The fact that they don't, kind of ruins your hypothesis. Also, you are left with explaining how it is that God NEEDS to kill 10,000 innocent people, who never did anything to hurt him, in order to turn a few to him. If he has ALL power, then he should be able to make everyone in the world believe in him without ever killing so much as a fly.
If you are a Christian, then you are pretty much forced to worship a homicidal maniac who destroys whole villages in a vain attempt to convert people...or else you can blame it all on Satan, but ignore the fact that if God created EVERYTHING, he also created Satan, and so ultimately, God is still the one responsible. If you are a skeptic, however, you know that science has shown that all natural disasters are natural, with no boogieman-in-the-sky involved.

Well, if the disaster hits a place that is famous for being sinful, or where Pat Robertson says God told him it will, it must be God. On the other hand, if it hits somewhere renowned for goodness (Like say Pat Robertson's house/TV station 8) ), it must be Satan. And when all the Hurricanes hit Florida in 2004 (The news actually said they were hitting Republican areas...) that was - The Wrath of Al Gore! - JK 8)
God controls the weather (Exodus 9:29; Psalms 135:6-7; Jeremiah 10:13).
God controls the skies (Psalms 77:16-19).
God controls the wind (Mark 4:35-41; Luke 8:22-25).
God sustains the universe (Jeremiah 51:15-16).
God is Light and controls the lesser light (Genesis 1.6, Psalm 36.9).
God has power over the clouds (Exodus 20.21).
God has power over lightning and Satan (Luke 10:18).
God has power over all nature (Job chapter26).
God did give Satan temporary power to torment Job

"Disasters" can not be evil...Satan does not have dominion over Nature, that is Gods territory. I don't know where this started that natural disasters are evil...but it is ignorant of God's control. Everything happens for a reason...only disasters that are caused by men, i.e. 9/11 and such, have "Satan's" influence...and even then, there is a purpose to it...basically God is kept in the loop.
Yes, Satan is powerful, but he is not Nature...which means that he can have no control over it, which then concludes that Satan is not an "influence" on natural disasters.

God is in control of all things. The world is in a fallen state just as man is. When Adam and Eve fell then also all creation fell from perfection. The Bible says that all creation is groaning for the son's (adopted) of God to be revealed, so when the world ends and the son's of God are revealed, all of creation will be made new again. No more tears, suffering or decay.
Of course the closer we get to the end of time, (the return of Jesus) the more disasters like earthquakes, famines, plagues and the like will occur. We are very close to that day.

Ahhhh, but what you DON'T know is that on the Science Channel there was recently a show called "Owning the Weather". It talked about how the government is practicing creating so-called "natural" disasters to help control the outcome of wars. It was SO creepy. It said that all the bad weather in Viet Nam was created by man. Keep in mind this was THE Science Channel, not some weird conspiracy show. If they did that way back then in Viet Nam, what could they do to the weather by now? Hurricanes? Tornadoes? Hmmmm......!

We usually just flip a coin. JK
I look at it this way. I believe that God allows certain bad things to happen to people but in no way do I feel God is evil. If this is Satans world, then he is probably the one who causes all of them.

According to the book of Job, Satan is subject to God's authority, even though he may be Prince of Earth, it's a title that allows him limited power, the power to roam about seeking whom he may devour, but he cannot control or do anything but what God allows it, and anything God allows is to bring about the Glory of God, and as long as people reject Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, God will allow his wrath to continue to be shown to the nations until they repent.
