tried getting it with updates but no joy, and would appreciate any help in locating a source if you need more information to help me with this problem pleas im me,

Umm it SHOULD be at windows update...? You may need to go back a few times before it comes up. When i updated mine, I had to go through 48 downloads before the "express" updates gave me the SP2 option.
I'm sure there is a site out there if that doesn't work...

This will let you download SP2 and then you can load it from your desktop. Shouldn't be too big a problem if you have broadband or cable modem. If not, IM me at viclioce and I will help further....

I think you would be best just for paying the c.d. like I did. It cost like $3 for shipping and handling directly from Microsoft.
