It means you may have a floppy in the A: drive or a CD in your D: drive -- eject any removable disks and press any key -- the computer will start.

If you don't have ANY removable media (i.e., floppy, cd, dvd, flash memory stick, etc.) to eject/disconnect, then you may be out of luck. Try restarting and push the setup key (F2 or F12 usually- the screen will say before Windows comes up) the see if there's anything about Boot Order and set it to always go to your C: drive first. If that doesn't work, then your C: drive may have died. Good Luck!

windows is looking for a boot sector It is tring to bootstrap the OS (windows) , but it cant find a boot sector..

1) The BIOS has be set to (or wiped out) so it can or wont recognise the C drive

2) The primary drive has been set to adrive that doesnt have a boot sector. This is possible if you have more than 1 Hard Drive

3) I assume you have a IDE hard drive.t is possible the IDE cable is loose or the power cable is where they connect to the drive or moterboard.

4) the drive is dead, drives do fail. (the worst)

Try removing the disk out of the floppy drive.
If that doesn't work, your hard drive might be messed up.

usually that means you have a disk in your floppy drive and it won't let it boot. Check your floppy drive.

Restart your PC, then press and hold "Delete" key untill a CMOS setup Page appears, if you know your PC CMOS then go to "First boot device" and select the drive C (infact it has own name) otherwise tell someone help you.

You might have to put the disk you installed the OS with.
