Strawberry Flowers:
Using a perring Knife
Hold the berry so that the green is at the bottom.
Along the outer curve of the berry cut 3/4 of the way down.
Just enough that you can fold the thin slice back, but it is still attached to the fruit. Continue round the berry.
You should get 4 cuts, and there should be a large part of the berry resembling a square when viewed from above. Along the corners, follow the same method as you did along the outside of the berry.
Make sure all your sloces are thin, they are supposed to resemble flower petals. If you alternate correctly, it should look like a rose.
Cantaloupe/honeydew Flower:
Using a meduim serrated knife, cut along the middle of the melon in cuts that resmble this pattern if laid out flat
VVVVVVV
Once split, take out seeds and using a parring knife, make a single V cut following the shape of each "petal" about 1/4 inch away from the previous cut.
If doing anything with apples, serve right away, or soak in cold water with a little bit of lemon juice to prevent oxidation.

I just saw on a magazine cover, watermelon slice into small triagle pieces, with the triagles turned out to form the rays of a sun. Then in the middle they added lots of juicy pieces of fruit (like strawberries, mango, apple, grapes, etc). It looked so pretty!
