The thing is I agreed to join a pottery class with my significant other. I have a deathly fear of clay. I feel like it is watching me like some twisted perversian of dirt. The class starts in days, I do not know what to do.

you need to be very careful! first of all do not ever walk in clay, it may dry and you will be trapped. as far as the class.... i am concerned for you. what if the clay dries while you are sculpting? will your hands forever be embedded in an ashtray? you will not be able to call for help. clay is extremely dangerous. stay on your toes. good luck.
