Pain pills can have various side effects, if it is anti-inflammatories you are taking, these can give people gastrointestinal upset and stomach pains, that is why it is best to take these types of medications with meals. If it is more of a narcotic, like Lortab, Vicodon, Darvocet, etc, they can give alot of people drowsiness and when used over longer periods of time, constipation. Make sure to drink these with plenty of water, and do not operate heavy machinery when taking them. Also if you are taking them long term, you may want to add a stool softener that way you do not get constipation from use.

Many people do. Often the problem is because people tend to take these on an empty stomach, which is not a good idea. Eat something- crackers, bread, toast, cereal, etc. before taking any pain medication.
Remember, stomach upset from the medications are not an allergy- just a side effect. Do whatever you would do if you had an upset stomach at other times.. Good Luck!

Yes. About the only thing I can take is ibuprofen. If I have any sort of surgery or dental work and they try to get me to take Percocet or any of those other things that people actually pay for and buy to get high on, I just get sick. Once I'm off the morphine drip, there's not much I can take. So, it depends on how bad the pain is if I take anything at all.

Yes, they can make you very sick. If they are to strong or taken on an empty stomach. It's horrible to be in pain and you can't decide which is worse- the pain or the pill.:)

Some medications have been known to upset the stomach. Drinking a glass of milk may help. Milk will coat the stomach. Be sure to check the directions for the medicine you are taking. Some medicines are to be taken with food or milk, while others are not.

yes pain pills do make you sick sometimes.. you may try eating before you take any pain pills.. and if you have tried that you may have to contact your doctor and tell them they are making you sick.. you may be allergic to something in the medicine...but i have found and i know some friends too have found if you eat before taking the medicine it does hlep ...and also some pain pills may just be to strong for your system...i would call the doctor if eating does not help and ask for another presciption.. tell him how it has made you feel and chances are he will change your medicince....

Hydrocodone is the WORST, and I can't even take Advil without getting sick to my stomach. I'm allergic to a lot of medications, and the same may be true for you.
