Yes that is what the Bible teaches. Animals have a body and a soul, but do not have a spirit. The spirit originates from the breath of God that was breathed into man. It is eternal and can never end. When we die it is the spirit that goes to heaven. The soul is the "human" part of us and that is where we sin. We cannot sin in our spirit because that which is born of God cannot sin (1John) And That which is born of the spirit is spirit. (John 3) The soul is the part of us that sins and is destroyed in hell.

First, the soul is a combination of Spirit and Body, Animals have the same. But We have free will that allows us to learn and grow.

yes..you are on the money..people dissmiss things but don't trust that...you know what is inside you..you are a tri part being..you are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body..just as birth is a part of life so is death..and then the next phase..keep your mind open..there is more to life than some happenstance like the naysayers would have you believe....

Animals have souls, spirits and bodies too...they're sentient beings just like we are. We also have another important constituent--a mind--which animals have as well.

spirit or soul is not a thing, its an essence, attitude.
man is no different than animals other than we have a higher consciousness due to our cerebral cortex.
The bible writers had no clue as to what the brain was, or the central nervous system, hence these terms to explain what we experience from our senses and mind.
