What would you recommend? Should I even do it? Color, how many colors, brand etc? And has anyone ever used that stuff that is only temporary? Like it washes out after like a month or something? Thanks.

I am a beautician. If you put highlights in your hair, that lightens you hair and that's not teporary because it takes the color out of your hair not put it in. I always use a product called Kolida Colors and it's a great product and easy to use, it's a powder and you mix it with 20 volume developer, you can get it at Sallys but you have be licensed to buy that. I've never used the stuff that you can buy in wal mart. I would suggest going to a salon to get it done to make sure it will look right and good.

If you are going to color your hair, have a professional do it. I know it's more expensive but those home kits can damage the crap out of your hair. Stylists are trained in what colors look best with what skin types and hair types. Find a reputible salon and SPEND THE MONEY - you won't regret it...

yes you should do it go to www.cairol.com...an then click on get new hair style...download your photo...and do the image for using their hair not yours..and their different styles and colors for ..long..med short hair....than you can decide for yourself ..adding highlights to a dark blond will brighten your hair that would be a good decision....but please let a professional do it......highlights can be tricky...I have spent lots of money tying to get it look right by doing it myself............and only to have it awfully...in the long run they know what they are doing and it will tun out great and than you only have to go in for touch up on the roots every 8 to 10 weeks and it cheap........go for it

typical hair dye wears out in about fifteen to twenty washes. you can highlight it or lowlight it. or change the color all together.
