Terrorism has nothing to do with believing in God. Terrorists may claim that they are killing innocent people for God's sake, but the truth is God has nothing to do with it. Those ignorant and hateful terrorists and whoever supports them want nothing but power and wealth, they are nothing but common criminals.

I'm not a terrorist, so I'm not too sure you'll wanna hear my answer, but I'm gonna tell you anyway. I'm a US soldier currently in Iraq. Most of these "terrorists" get their orders from their imam, or whoever runs their religious organization. That only applies to the ones who say they're doing it for their god. Here's the thing: most of the imams that give the orders to kill or destroy property have some sort of a political agenda. The "terrorist" and the rest of the imam's followers beleive that this 'imam' should be the head of the religious organization because he is either old and wise, or because of some action that the imam himself committed to better the followers at one point. The thing with iraqi's that support the imams that bring terrorism to the country is that they will beleive almost anything the imam tells them, so if the imam tells his story in a way that will personally affect the follower, the follower will do whatever it takes to carry out the wishes of the religious leader.
That's what I've seen, anyway. I'm sure other terrorists who don't base their actions on religion don't do this.

There is good and evil in the world.
Mat 13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
Mat 13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
Mat 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
Mat 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
Mat 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
Mat 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
Mat 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Mat 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Sheridan,
There is only one religion that has scriptures that can support actions that we call terrorism. But that religion does not see it as terrorism it is call holy war and it is not only supported by their scripture but as well as all the core major schools and religious institutions in the world support and commands it as a duty to wage the violent aspect of holy war.
Terrorism in general is not related to religion. And the proof is the recent agreement between the Maoist and the King of Nepal. The same can be said with Ireland....Iand many places in South America and Mexico. Why are these instances different from THE only religion that has clear scriptural instruction that gives credence to killing innocents of other religion denomination than their own? It is because terrorism is usually motivated by social issues and injustices and thus CAN be negotiatable.
Thie ONLY religion that actually promote violent terrorisme in the disguise of PEACE (or Pieces) Hides behind terms such as TOLERANCE rather than acceptance to deny their responsibility on the chaos that that those you apply their scripture to the letter adhere to.
Here are the list of verses in the Koran that actually DO speak of JIHAD (Holy war) with specific instructions...
Here are just some of the samplings:
[2.178]...retaliation is prescribed for you in the matter of the slain... [2.179] ...there is life for you in (the law of) retaliation, O men of understanding, that you may guard yourselves.
Or
2.190] ...fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you...[2.191] And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers.
Or
Verses 47:004 (Beheadings)
...when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom (themselves) until the war terminates...(as for) those who are slain in the way of Allah...
Some will try to convince other passages.. If this happens, then purchase you own Koran and make you own idea of what this book is all about . Don.t listen to what people say or comment about the book
Remember. It does not matter what is the teaching or wht the media or people say. What truly matters is what is truly said, done and promoted in the name of religion. And if there are people trying to proove that these violent verses are out of context or that terrorist are not real Muslims..... THen ask them why THEY can justify their actions through the Koran and other Islamic Scriptures and the non-violent brand of Islam is actually not supported by any official Islamic schools in the whole world. Aske them why they cannot illiminate the JIHAD ideology from their religion..
Hope this help !
Bye

I believe religion is a useful catalyst for those in power, by which the masses can be stirred into a [killing] frenzy in pursuit of someone else's veiled aspirations..
