I can't believe anyone would say a peanut allergy is a myth. Obviously that person does not have a anaphylatic allergy such as this. I have a severe peanut allergy, and trust me, I wish it was a myth. I have had bad reactions just being within a foot of peanuts, without touching, tasting, or smelling them. My face swelled up with hives and I had to go to the hospital and get a shot. My brother also has the same allergy. He discovered his allergy after touching peanut butter while making a bird feeder. A doctor told my parents that he might have died if he had actually put any of the peanut butter in his mouth. I carry an Epi-Pen with me in my purse in case I ever come into contact with them.

No, and for the person that said peanut allergies are a myth, it's not. Sadly my brother is deadly allergic to every kind of nut, also eggs, some shellfish like lobster, he can't have shrimp, it's a small list but I can't remember it all, but the biggest thing is peanuts. Every night I'm so scared that he might die, I love him, and I'm so scared that somehow he will eat a peanut and his eppi-pen won't work. I love him, I hope he never is faced with an allergic reaction.

i am totally allergic to peanuts. i always get a pimple breakout after eating peanuts. peanuts used to be my favorite snack until my dermatologist told me that 70% of my pimple breakout was caused by peanuts. true enough, i had fewer pimples after i quit eating peanuts. stress and hormones are the only factors that give me pimples.
